■Conditions unfavorable to correct operation


The compass may not show the correct direction in the following conditions: ●The vehicle is stopped immediately after turning.


The compass does not adjust while the vehicle is stopped.


●The engine switch is turned off immediately after turning. ●The vehicle is on an inclined surface. ●The vehicle is in a place where the earth’s magnetic field is subject to interference by artificial magnetic fields (underground car park/parking lot, under a steel tower, between buildings, roof car park/parking lot, near an intersection, near a large vehicle, etc.).


●The vehicle has become magnetized.


(There is a magnet or metal object on or near the roof.)


●The battery has been disconnected.


CAUTION


■While driving the vehicle


Do not adjust the display. Be sure to adjust the display only when the vehicle is stopped.


■When doing the circling calibration


Be sure to secure a wide space, and watch out for people and vehicles in the neighborhood. Do not violate any local traffic rules while performing circling calibration.

■To avoid the compass malfunctions


Do not place magnets or any metal objects on or near the roof. Doing this may cause a malfunction of the compass sensor.


■To ensure normal operation of the compass


●Do not perform circling calibration of the compass in a place where the earth’s magnetic field is subject to interference by artificial magnetic fields. ●During calibration, do not operate electric systems (power windows, etc.)

4-1. Maintenance and care Cleaning and protecting the vehicle exterior


Perform the following to protect the vehicle and maintain it in prime condition.


● Working from top to bottom, liberally apply water to the vehicle body, wheel wells and underside of the vehicle to remove any dirt and dust. Wash the vehicle body using a sponge or soft cloth, such as a chamois.


● For hard-to-remove marks, use car wash soap and rinse thor-


oughly with water.


● Wipe away any water. ● Wax the vehicle when the waterproof coating deteriorates. If water does not bead on a clean surface, apply wax when the vehicle body is cool.


■Automatic car washes


●Before washing the vehicle, do the following.


• Fold the mirrors back. • Remove the antenna.


●Brushes used in automatic car washes may scratch the vehicle surface


and harm your vehicle’s paint.


■High pressure car washes


Do not allow the nozzles of the car wash to come within close proximity of the windows. Before entering an automatic car wash, check that the fuel filler door on your vehicle is closed properly.


■Aluminum wheels (if equipped)


●Remove any dirt immediately by using a neutral detergent. Do not use hard brushes or abrasive cleaners. Do not use strong or harsh chemical cleaners. Use the same mild detergent and wax as used on the paint.


●Do not use detergent on the wheels when they are hot, for example after


driving for long distance in the hot weather.


●Wash detergent from the wheels immediately after use.

■Bumpers and side moldings


Do not scrub with abrasive cleaners.


CAUTION


■Caution about the exhaust pipe


Exhaust gasses cause the exhaust pipe to become quite hot. When washing the vehicle, be careful not to touch the pipe until it has cooled sufficiently, as touching a hot exhaust pipe can cause burns.


NOTICE


■To prevent paint deterioration and corrosion on the body and compo-


nents (aluminum wheels etc.) ●Wash the vehicle immediately in the following cases:


• After driving near the sea coast • After driving on salted roads • If you see coal tar or tree sap on the paint surface • If you see dead insects, insect droppings or bird droppings on the paint • After driving in an area contaminated with soot, oily smoke, mine dust,


iron powder or chemical substances


• If the vehicle becomes heavily soiled in dust or mud • If liquids such as benzene and gasoline are spilled on the paint surface


●If the paint is chipped or scratched, have it repaired immediately. ●To prevent the wheels from corroding, remove any dirt and store in a place


with low humidity when storing the wheels.


●Clean the drainage hole of the deck regularly.


If the drainage hole is stopped up, the water will not be able to flow, and it will cause rust.

■Cleaning the exterior lights


●Wash carefully. Do not use organic substances or scrub with a hard brush.


This may damage the surfaces of the lights.


●Do not apply wax on the surfaces of the lights.


Wax may cause damage to the lenses.


■Antenna installation and removal precautions


●Before driving, ensure that the antenna is installed. ●When the antenna is removed, such as before entering an automatic car wash, make sure to store it in a suitable place so as not to lose it. Also, before driving, make sure to reinstall the antenna in its original position.

The following procedures will help protect your vehicle’s interior and keep it in top condition: ■ Protecting the vehicle interior


Remove dirt and dust using a vacuum cleaner. Wipe dirty sur- faces with a cloth dampened with lukewarm water.


■ Cleaning the leather areas


● Remove dirt and dust using a vacuum cleaner. ● Wipe any excess dirt and dust with a soft cloth dampened with


diluted detergent. Use a diluted water solution of approximately 5% neutral wool deter- gent.


● Wring out any excess water from the cloth and thoroughly


wipe off all remaining traces of detergent.


● Wipe the surface with a dry, soft cloth to remove any remain- ing moisture. Allow the leather to dry in a shaded and venti- lated area.


■ Synthetic leather areas


● Remove loose dirt using a vacuum cleaner. ● Apply a mild soap solution to the synthetic leather using a


sponge or soft cloth.


● Allow the solution to soak in for a few minutes. Remove the


dirt and wipe off the solution with a clean, damp cloth.


■Caring for leather areas


Toyota recommends cleaning the interior of the vehicle at least twice a year to maintain the quality of the vehicle’s interior.

■Shampooing the carpets


There are several commercial foaming-type cleaners available. Use a sponge or brush to apply the foam. Rub in overlapping circles. Do not apply water. The excellent results are obtained when keeping the carpet as dry as possible.


■Seat belts


Clean with mild soap and lukewarm water using a cloth or sponge. Also check the belts periodically for excessive wear, fraying or cuts.


CAUTION


■Water in the vehicle


●Do not splash or spill liquid in the vehicle.


Doing so may cause the electrical components etc. to malfunction or catch fire.


●Do not get any of the SRS components or wiring in the vehicle interior wet.


(→P. 84) Electrical malfunction may cause the airbags to deploy or not function properly, resulting in death or severe injury.


■Cleaning the interior (especially instrument panel)


Do not use polish wax or polish cleaner. The instrument panel may reflect off the windshield, obstructing the driver’s view and leading to an accident, resulting in death or serious injury.

■Cleaning detergents


●Do not use organic substances such as benzene or gasoline, acidic or alkaline solutions, dye, bleach or other detergent. Doing so may discolor the vehicle interior or cause streaks or damage to painted surfaces.


●Do not use polish wax or polish cleaner. The instrument panel’s or other


interior part’s painted surface may be damaged.


■Preventing damage to leather surfaces


Observe the following precautions to avoid damage to and deterioration of leather surfaces. ●Remove any dust or dirt on leather surfaces immediately. ●Do not expose the vehicle to direct sunlight for extended periods of time.


Park the vehicle in the shade, especially during summer.


●Do not place items made of vinyl, plastic, or that contain wax on the uphol- stery, as they may stick to the leather surface if the vehicle interior heats up significantly.


■Water on the floor


Do not wash the vehicle floor with water. Vehicle systems such as the audio system may be damaged if water comes into contact with electrical components under the floor of the vehicle, and may also cause the body to rust.

4-2. Maintenance Maintenance requirements


To ensure safe and economical driving, day-to-day care and regular maintenance is essential. It is the owner’s responsibility to perform regular checks. Toyota recommends the following maintenance. ■ General maintenance


Should be performed on a daily basis. This can be done by your- self or by a Toyota dealer. ■ Scheduled maintenance


Should be performed at specified intervals according to the maintenance schedule. For details about maintenance items and schedules, refer to the “Scheduled Maintenance Guide” or “Owner’s Manual Supplement”.


■ Do-it-yourself maintenance


You can perform some maintenance procedures yourself. Please be aware that do-it-yourself maintenance may affect war- ranty coverage. The use of Toyota Repair Manuals is recommended. For details about warranty coverage, see the separate “Owner’s Warranty Information Booklet”, “Owner’s Manual Supplement”.


■Repair and replacement


It is recommended that genuine Toyota parts be used for repair to ensure performance of each system. If non-Toyota parts are used in replacement or if a repair shop other than Toyota dealer performs repairs, confirm the war- ranty coverage.

■Allow inspection and repairs to be performed by a Toyota dealer


●Toyota technicians are well-trained specialists and are kept up to date with the latest service information. They are well informed about the operations of all systems on your vehicle.


●Keep a copy of the repair order. It proves that the maintenance that has been performed is under warranty coverage. If any problem should arise while your vehicle is under warranty, your Toyota dealer will promptly take care of it.


CAUTION


■Warning in handling of battery


●Engine exhaust, some of its constituents, and a wide variety of automobile components contain or emit chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects and other reproductive harm. Work in a well ventilated area.


●Oils, fuels and fluids contained in vehicles as well as waste produced by component wear contain or emit chemicals known to the State of Califor- nia to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm. Avoid exposure and wash any affected area immediately.


●Battery posts, terminals and related accessories contain lead and lead compounds which are known to cause brain damage. Wash your hands after handling. (→P. 374)

4-2. Maintenance Emission inspection and maintenance (I/M) programs


Some states have vehicle emission inspection programs which include OBD (On Board Diagnostics) checks. The OBD system moni- tors the operation of the emission control system. ■ If the malfunction indicator lamp comes on


The OBD system determines that a problem exists somewhere in the emission control system. Your vehicle may not pass the I/ M test and may need to be repaired. Contact your Toyota dealer to service the vehicle.


■ Your vehicle may not pass the I/M test:


● When the battery is disconnected or discharged


Readiness codes that are set during ordinary driving are erased. Also, depending on your driving habits, the readiness codes may not be completely set.


● When the fuel tank cap is loose


The malfunction indicator lamp comes on as a temporary mal- function and your vehicle may not pass the I/M test.


■ When the malfunction indicator lamp goes off after several


driving trips The error code in the OBD system will not be cleared unless the vehicle is driven 40 or more times.


■ If your vehicle does not pass the I/M test


Contact your Toyota dealer to prepare the vehicle for re-testing.

CAUTION


The engine compartment contains many mechanisms and fluids that may move suddenly, become hot, or become electrically energized. To avoid death or serious injury observe the following precautions. ■When working on the engine compartment


●Keep hands, clothing, and tools away from the moving fan and engine


drive belt.


●Be careful not to touch the engine, radiator, exhaust manifold, etc. right


after driving as they may be hot. Oil and other fluids may also be hot.


●Do not leave anything that may burn easily, such as paper or rags, in the


engine compartment.


●Do not smoke, cause sparks or expose an open flame to fuel or the bat-


tery. Fuel and battery fumes are flammable.


●Be extremely cautious when working on the battery. It contains poisonous


and corrosive sulfuric acid.


●Take care because brake fluid can harm your hands or eyes and damage


painted surfaces. If fluid gets on your hands or in your eyes, flush the affected area with clean water immediately. If you still experience discomfort, see a doctor.


■When working near the cooling fan or radiator grille


Be sure the engine switch is off. With the engine switch on, the cooling fan may automatically start to run if the air conditioning is on and/or the coolant temperature is high.


■Safety glasses


Wear safety glasses to prevent flying or falling material, fluid spray, etc. from getting in the eyes.

NOTICE


■If you remove the air cleaner


Driving with the air cleaner removed may cause excessive engine wear due to dirt in the air. Also a backfire could cause a fire in the engine compart- ment.


■If the fluid level is low or high


It is normal for the brake fluid level to go down slightly as the brake pads wear or when the fluid level in the accumulator is high. If the reservoir needs frequent refilling, it may indicate a serious problem.

Release the lock from the inside of the vehicle to open the hood.


Pull the hood release lever. The hood will pop up slightly.


Pull up the hood catch lever and lift the hood.

Hold the hood open by insert- ing the supporting rod into the slot.


CAUTION


■Pre-driving check


Check that the hood is fully closed and locked. If the hood is not locked properly, it may open while the vehicle is in motion and cause an accident, which may result in death or serious injury.


■After installing the support rod into the slot


Make sure the rod supports the hood securely from falling down on to your head or body.


NOTICE


■When closing the hood


Be sure to return the support rod to its clip before closing the hood. Closing the hood with the support rod up could cause the hood to bend.

With the engine at operating temperature and turned off, check the oil level on the dipstick. ■ Checking the engine oil


Park the vehicle on level ground. After turning off the engine, wait more than 5 minutes for the oil to drain back into the bot- tom of the engine. Hold a rag under the end and pull the dipstick out.


2.7 L 4-cylinder (2TR-FE) engine


4.0 L V6 (1GR-FE) engine


Wipe the dipstick clean. Reinsert the dipstick fully. Holding a rag under the end, pull the dipstick out and check the oil level. Wipe the dipstick and reinsert it fully.

Remove the oil filler cap, turning it counterclockwise. Add engine oil slowly. Checking the dipstick. Reinstall the filler cap, turning it clockwise.


The approximate quantity of oil needed to raise the level between low and full on the dipstick is indicated as follows:

■Engine oil consumption


●The amount of engine oil consumed depends on the oil viscosity, the


quality of the oil and the way the vehicle is driven.


●More oil is consumed under driving conditions such as high speeds and


frequent acceleration and deceleration.


●A new engine consumes more oil. ●When judging the amount of oil consumption, keep in mind that the oil may have become diluted, making it difficult to judge the true level accu- rately.


●Oil consumption: Max. 1.1 qt./600 miles, 0.9 lmp.qt./600 miles (1.0 L per


1000 km)


●If you consume more than 1.1 qt. (1.0 L, 0.9 lmp.qt.) every 600 miles


(1000 km), contact your Toyota dealer.


■After changing the engine oil (U.S.A. only)


The oil change system should be reset. Perform the following procedures:


Turn the engine switch off with the odometer reading shown. (→P. 157) Turn the engine switch to the ON position while holding down the trip meter reset button. Continue to press and hold the button until the odometer displays 000000.


If the system fails to reset, the light will continue flashing.

CAUTION


■Used engine oil


●Used engine oil contains potentially harmful contaminants which may cause skin disorders such as inflammation or skin cancer, so care should be taken to avoid prolonged and repeated contact. To remove used engine oil from your skin, wash thoroughly with soap and water.


●Dispose of used oil and filters only in a safe and acceptable manner. Do not dispose of used oil and filters in household trash, in sewers or onto the ground. Call your Toyota dealer, service station or auto parts store for information concerning recycling or disposal.


●Do not leave used engine oil within the reach of children.


NOTICE


■To prevent serious engine damage Check the oil level on regular basis.


■When replacing the engine oil


●Be careful not to spill engine oil on the vehicle components. ●Avoid overfilling, as the engine could be damaged. ●Check the oil level on the dipstick every time you refill the vehicle. ●Be sure the engine oil filler cap is properly tightened.

Engine coolant


The coolant level is satisfactory if it is between the FULL and LOW lines on the reservoir when the engine is cold.


Reservoir cap FULL LOW If the level is on or below the LOW line, add coolant up to the FULL line.


■If the coolant level drops within a short time after replenishing


Visually check the radiator, hoses, reservoir cap, radiator cap, drain cock and water pump. If you cannot find a leak, have your Toyota dealer pressure test the cap and check for leaks in the cooling system.


■Coolant selection


Only use “Toyota Super Long Life Coolant” or similar high quality ethylene glycol based non-silicate, non-amine, non-nitrite and non-borate coolant with long-life hybrid organic acid technology. U.S.A.:“Toyota Super Long Life Coolant” is a mixture of 50% coolant and


50% deionized water. (Enabled: -31°F [-35°C])


Canada:“Toyota Super Long Life Coolant” is a mixture of 55% coolant and


45% deionized water. (Enabled: -44°F [-42°C])


For more details about engine coolant, contact your Toyota dealer.


CAUTION


■When the engine is hot


Do not remove the radiator cap. The cooling system may be under pressure and may spray hot coolant if the cap is removed, causing burns or other injuries.

NOTICE


■When adding engine coolant


Coolant is neither plain water nor straight antifreeze. The correct mixture of water and antifreeze must be used to provide proper lubrication, corrosion protection and cooling. Be sure to read the antifreeze or coolant label.


■If you spill coolant


Be sure to wash it off with water to prevent damage to parts or paint.


Radiator and condenser


Check the radiator and condenser and clear any foreign objects. If either of the above parts are extremely dirty or you are not sure of their condition, have your vehicle checked by your Toyota dealer.


CAUTION


■When the engine is hot


Do not touch the radiator or condenser as they may be hot and may cause burns.

Excess moisture in the fluid can cause a dangerous loss of braking effi- ciency. Use only newly opened brake fluid.

Take care because brake fluid can harm your hands or eyes and damage painted surfaces. If fluid gets on your hands or in your eyes, flush the affected area with clean water immediately. If you still experience discomfort, see a doctor.

■If the fluid level is low or high


It is normal for the brake fluid level to go down slightly as the brake pads wear or when the fluid level in the accumulator is high. If the reservoir needs frequent refilling, it may indicate a serious problem.

To reduce the risk of death or serious injury, take the following precautions while working on or near bat- tery: ●Do not cause sparks by touching the battery terminals with tools. ●Do not smoke or light a match near the battery. ●Avoid contact with eyes, skin and clothes. ●Never inhale or swallow electrolyte. ●Wear protective safety glasses when working near the battery. ●Keep children away from the battery.


■Where to safety charge the battery


Always charge the battery in an open area. Do not charge the battery in a garage or closed room where there is not sufficient ventilation.


■How to recharge the battery


Only perform a slow charge (5A or less). The battery may explode if charged at a quicker rate.

■Emergency measures regarding electrolyte


●If electrolyte gets in your eyes


Flush your eyes with clean water for at least 15 minutes and get immedi- ate medical attention. If possible, continue to apply water with a sponge or cloth while traveling to the nearest medical facility.


●If electrolyte gets on your skin


Wash the affected area thoroughly. If you feel pain or burning, get medical attention immediately.


●If electrolyte gets on your clothes


It can soak through clothing on to your skin. Immediately take off the cloth- ing and follow the procedure above if necessary.


●If you accidentally swallow electrolyte


Drink a large quantity of water or milk. Get emergency medical attention immediately.

Never recharge the battery while the engine is running. Also, be sure all accessories are turned off.

Installing tire pressure warning valves and transmitters


When replacing tires or wheels, tire pressure warning valves and transmitters must also be installed. When new tire pressure warning valves and transmitters are installed, new tire pressure warning valve and transmitter ID codes must be regis- tered in the tire pressure warning computer and tire pressure warning system must be initialized. Have tire pressure warning valve and trans- mitter ID codes registered by your Toyota dealer. (→P. 380)


Initializing the tire pressure warning system


■ The tire pressure warning system must be initialized in the fol-


lowing circumstances: ● When rotating the tires on vehicles differing with front and rear


tire inflation pressures.


● When changing the tire inflation pressure by changing traveling


speed or load weight, etc.


● When changing the tire size. When the tire pressure warning system is initialized, the current tire inflation pressure is set as the pressure benchmark.


■ How to initialize the tire pressure warning system


Park the vehicle in safe place and turn the engine switch off. While the vehicle is moving, initialization is not performed. Adjust the tire inflation pressure to the specified cold tire infla- tion pressure level. (→P. 484) Make sure to adjust the tire pressure to the specified cold tire inflation pressure level. The tire pressure warning system will operate based on this pressure level. Turn the engine switch to the ON position.

Press and hold the tire pressure warning reset switch until the tire pressure warning light blinks slowly 3 times.


Wait for a few minutes with the engine switch on, and then turn the engine switch to the ACC or LOCK position.


Registering ID codes


The tire pressure warning valve and transmitter is equipped with a unique ID code. When replacing a tire pressure warning valve and transmitter, it is necessary to register the ID code of tire pressure warning valve and transmitter. Have the ID code registered by your Toyota dealer.

■When to replace your vehicle's tires


Tires should be replaced if: ●You have tire damage such as cuts, splits, cracks deep enough to


expose the fabric or bulges indicating internal damage


●A tire goes flat repeatedly or cannot be properly repaired due to the


size or location of a cut or other damage


If you are not sure, consult with your Toyota dealer.


■Replacing tires and wheels


If the ID code of the tire pressure warning valve and transmitter is not registered, the tire pressure warning system will not work properly. After driving for about 20 minutes, the tire pressure warning light comes on after blinking for 1 minute to indicate a system malfunction.


■Tire life


Any tire over 6 years old must be checked by a qualified technician even if they have seldom or never been used or damage is not obvious.


■If the tread wears down below 0.16 in. (4 mm) on snow tires


The effectiveness of snow tires is lost.


■Maximum load of tire


Check that the number given by dividing the maximum load by 1.10 of the replacement tire is greater than 1/2 of the Gross Axle Weight Ratings (GAWR) of either the front axle or the rear axle, whichever is greater. For the GAWR, see the Certification Label. For the maximum load of the tire, see the load limit at maximum cold tire inflation pressure mentioned on the sidewall of the tire (→P. 491).

■Tire types


1 Summer tires


Summer tires are high-speed performance tires best suited to highway driving under dry conditions. Since summer tires do not have the same traction performance as snow tires, summer tires are inadequate for driving on snow-covered or icy roads. For driving on snow-covered roads or icy roads, the use of snow tires is recommended. When installing snow tires, be sure to replace all four tires.


2 All season tires


All season tires are designed to provide better traction in snow and to be adequate for driving in most winter conditions, as well as for use year round. All season tires, however, do not have adequate traction performance compared with snow tires in heavy or loose snow. Also, all season tires fall short in acceleration and handling performance compared with summer tires in highway driving.


3 Snow tires


For driving on snow-covered roads or icy roads, we recommend using snow tires. If you need snow tires, select tires of the same size, con- struction and load capacity as the originally installed tires. Since your vehicle has radial tires as original equipment, make sure your snow tires also have radial construction. Do not install studded tires without first checking local regulations for possible restriction. Snow tires should be installed on all wheels. ■If you push the tire pressure warning reset switch accidentally


If initialization is performed, adjust the tire inflation pressure to the speci- fied level and initialize the tire pressure warning system again.


■When the initialization of the tire pressure warning system has


failed Initialization can be completed in a few minutes. However, in the follow- ing cases, the settings have not been recorded and the system will not operate properly. If repeated attempts to record tire inflation pressure settings are unsuccessful, have the vehicle inspected by your Toyota dealer. ●When operating the tire pressure warning reset switch, the tire pres-


sure warning light does not flash 3 times.


●After carrying out the initialization procedure, the tire pressure warn- ing light blinks for 1 minute then stays on after driving for about 20
minutes.


■Routine tire inflation pressure checks


The tire pressure warning system does not replace routine tire inflation pres- sure checks. Make sure to check tire inflation pressure as part of your rou- tine of daily vehicle checks.

■ Inspection and adjustment procedure

Remove the tire valve cap. Press the tip of the tire pressure gauge onto the tire valve. Read the pressure using the graduations of the gauge. If the tire inflation pressure is not within the recommended levels, adjust inflate the tire. If you add too much air, press the center of the valve to lower. After completing the tire inflation pressure measurement and adjustment, apply soapy water to the valve and check for leakage. Reinstall the tire valve cap.

■Tire inflation pressure check interval


You should check tire pressure every two weeks, or at least once a month. Do not forget to check the spare.


■Effects of incorrect tire inflation pressure


Driving with incorrect tire inflation pressure may result in the following: ●Reduced fuel efficiency ●Reduced driving comfort and tire life ●Reduced safety ●Damage to the drive train If a tire needs frequent refilling, have it checked by your Toyota dealer.


■Instructions for checking tire inflation pressure


When checking tire inflation pressure, observe the following: ●Check only when the tires are cold.


If your vehicle has been parked for at least 3 hours and has not been driven for more than 1 mile or 1.5 km, you will get an accurate cold tire inflation pressure reading.


●Always use a tire pressure gauge.


The appearance of the tire can be misleading. In addition, tire infla- tion pressures that are even just a few pounds off can degrade ride and handling.


●Do not bleed or reduce tire inflation pressure after driving. It is normal


for the tire inflation pressure to be higher after driving.


●Never exceed the vehicle capacity weight.


Passengers and luggage weight should be placed so that the vehicle is balanced.

If a wheel is bent, cracked or heavily corroded, it should be replaced. Otherwise, the tire may separate from the wheel or cause loss of handling control. ■ Wheel selection


When replacing wheels, care should be taken to ensure that they are equivalent to those removed in load capacity, diameter, rim width, and inset*. Replacement wheels are available at your Toyota dealer. *: Conventionally referred to as “offset”. Toyota does not recommend using: ● Wheels of different sizes or types ● Used wheels ● Bent wheels that have been straightened


■ Wheel precautions


● Use only Toyota wheel nuts and wrench designed for use with


your aluminum wheels.


● When rotating, repairing or changing your tires, check that the


wheel nuts are still tight after driving 100 miles (160 km).


● Be careful not to damage the aluminum wheels when using


tire chains.


● Use only Toyota genuine balance weights or equivalent and a


plastic or rubber hammer when balancing your wheels.

The wheels of your Toyota are equipped with tire pressure warning valves and transmitters (except for spare tire) that allow the tire pressure warning system to provide advanced warning in the event of a loss in tire inflation pressure. ●Do not use wheels that are a different size from those recommended in


the Owner’s Manual, as this may result in loss of handling control.


●Never use an inner tube in a leaking wheel which is designed for a tubeless tire. Doing so may result in an accident, causing death or seri- ous injury.
