Engine: rb25 gts

Exhaust: stock

Suspension: tein coilovers

Wheels: 18" widest legal offset

Modifications: extremely loud fuel pump

Stereo Audio / Visual: pioneer headunit and soon will have 6" and 6x9 type R's

Estimated Power: it's for cruising... i dont care

Just bought this the other day, it's on tien coilovers set to 100mm so it's legal, widest rims legal with the biggest tire stretch legal, soon will have the darkest tint legal and i'll get the sound system up to scratch. Will get staggered dual tip exhaust soon aswell. The car runs smooth and it's comfortable, I dont care about making it any faster than it is as I am on my P's. This car is a comfortable car to cruise around in and I intend on not ruining it so for all those that are going to say 'needs more low' or anything like that im not interested in your posts.

Coilovers are defectable unless they have an engineers cert, so it is technically illegal.

Needs more low and decent rims.

Before anyone says this is bullshit, I'd like to add that he's correct. It's something I think that's commonly overlooked/not really known as the usual defect is too low, not for the actual coilovers.

There was a thread containing this information about 6 months ago.

Of course, only ADR approved coilovers can be modplated.

no such as 18" widest legal offset
if you want you can put 20x12 +5 wheels on it aslong as you suit the gaurds

He's from QLD. There's no mod code applicable for aftermarket suspension. It either meets ADR approval or it doesn't. As long as it's ADR approved and the car has to remain above 100mm off the ground it's legal.

is the lowest point on this car the side skirts? if you remove them (doesn't line up with front bar anyways) you will find that you can get this thing lower.

i really hate r33's but really like 4 doors and this ones is quite nice and clean.

and tbh cops will get you for whatever the fuck they want. unless your car is not 100 % stock and in everything is in good nick they will and can get ya! or they overlook alot of things and not give a fuck. it all about luck.

i drive around 50mm of the ground 1/2m pipes sticking out the back, tyres stretched to its limits and all the cops have ever said was to trip my pipes (to which i have not done yet)

if this were my car i would try and have it close to the vip style (i don't think anybody has done vip with one of these)

    great car nevertheless.

Qld has rules on maximum rollinng diameter and maximum track change. So yes IMO there would be such thingas widest legal offset to stay within the legalities of the track

(this is going purely off memory when I was looking for new rims)

    Explain how I don't?

And if you think I'm having a dig at Ryan you'd better guess again, seeing as I helped him buy it.

I would search for the thread but I can't be arsed on my phone.

After looking through the codes I could not find the one that was stated to be used for installation of coilovers.

    I have no proof wahhhhh.

If anyone wants to call me an idiot then come at me bro. I know what I've read previously.

    You're thinking of codes LS4 and LS6.
They aren't used in Qld :mamoru:

All you need to know about changing wheels in Qld.
    QUOTE (02GZM @ Mar 11 2010, 09:06 PM) *
You can go 15mm larger or 26mm smaller rolling diameter for your wheels.
2" is just a rule of thumb, as staying within the correctly specified load and speed ratings of the tyres will generally only allow for a 2" larger rim. This isn't always the case however.

You can only increase track width by 26mm.
Track width is measured from the centre of the tyre to the centre of the opposite tyre. So you can only have 13mm more poke on either side if retaining the same width wheels. You also can not reduce the track width lower than what is specified by the manufacturer.

The tyres can legally only go 1.3 times wider the largest factory size.
Note tyres, not rim. So if it came with 165's the largest legal size you can fit is 215's. A loophole you could probably get away with is slightly stretched tyres. Providing they are the correct speed/load ratings and don't look like they're about to fail from over stretching.

The Wheels must not protrude the bodywork when in a straight position.
Pretty self explanatory. Flares count as bodywork too.

And the wheels mustn't foul on suspension or bodywork.
Tested by a fully laden vehicle with the wheels turned full lock. Test person weight is 68kg +15kg luggage per person where space is available.

Spot on. So the example of 20x12 + 5 rims is going to be alot more then 26 mm track increase
