For more detailed information, refer to each of the features which can be found later in this owner manual. Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) System The RKE transmitter may work up to 60 m (195 ft) away from the vehicle. Press and hold 7 briefly to initiate vehicle locator. Press and hold 7 for at least three seconds to sound the panic alarm. Press 7 again to cancel the panic alarm. See Keys on page 2-1 and Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) System Operation on page 2-3. Remote Vehicle Start If equipped with this feature, the engine can be started from outside the vehicle. Starting the Vehicle 1. Aim the RKE transmitter at the vehicle. 2. Press and release Q. 3. Immediately after completing Step 2, press and hold / for at least four seconds or until the turn signal lamps flash. Press the key release button to extend the key blade. The key can be used for the ignition and all locks. Press K to unlock the driver door or all doors. Press Q to lock all doors. Lock and unlock feedback can be personalized. See Vehicle Personalization on page 5-36. Press and hold Y to open the trunk. Chevrolet Cruze Owner Manual (GMNA-Localizing-U.S./Canada-7707493) - 2015 - crc - 11/24/14 Black plate (5,1) Door Locks To lock or unlock the vehicle from outside, use the key in the door or use the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter. From inside the vehicle, use the power door lock switch. See Door Locks on page 2-11. Keyless Access In Brief 1-5 the driver door handle, press the lock/unlock button. When unlocking from the driver door, the first press unlocks that door; press again within five seconds to unlock all passenger doors. See Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) System Operation on page 2-3. This feature may be configured. See Vehicle Personalization on page 5-36. Power Door Locks When the engine starts, the parking lamps will turn on and remain on as long as the engine is running. The doors will be locked and the climate control system may come on. The engine will continue to run for 10 minutes. After 30 seconds, repeat the steps if a 10-minute time extension is desired. Remote start can be extended only once. Canceling a Remote Start To cancel a remote start, do one of the following: . Aim the RKE transmitter at the vehicle and press and hold / until the parking lamps turn off. Turn on the hazard warning flashers. Turn the vehicle on and then off. See Remote Vehicle Start on page 2-9. If equipped, use the Keyless Access system to lock and unlock the door. When the doors are locked and the RKE transmitter is within 1 m (3 ft) of K : Press to unlock the doors. Windows { Warning Children could be seriously injured or killed if caught in the path of a closing window. Never leave keys in a vehicle with children. When there are children in the rear seat, use the window lockout button to prevent operation of the windows. See Keys on page 2-1. Seat Adjustment Manual Front Seats Press the switch down to open the window. Pull the front of the switch up to close it. See Power Windows on page 2-21. The switches work when the ignition is in ON/RUN, ACC/ACCESSORY, or in Retained Accessory Power (RAP). See Retained Accessory Power (RAP) on page 9-23. To adjust a manual seat: 1. Pull the handle at the front of the seat. 2. Slide the seat to the desired position and release the handle. 3. Try to move the seat back and forth to be sure it is locked in place. Lift the lever fully without applying pressure to the seatback, and the seatback returns to the upright position. 2. Push and pull on the seatback to make sure it is locked. See Reclining Seatbacks on page 3-4. Power Driver Seat Seat Height Adjuster Reclining Seatbacks If available, move the lever up or down to manually raise or lower the seat. See Seat Adjustment on page 3-3. To recline the seatback: 1. Lift the lever. 2. Move the seatback to the desired position, then release the lever to lock the seatback in place. 3. Push and pull on the seatback to make sure it is locked. Move the seat forward or rearward by sliding the control forward or rearward. . Raise or lower the front part of the seat cushion by moving the front of the control up or down. . Raise or lower the entire seat by moving the rear of the control up or down. See Power Seat Adjustment on page 3-4. Rear Seats The rear seatbacks can be folded. For detailed instructions, see Rear Seats on page 3-6. Heated Seats If available, the controls are on the center stack. The engine must be running to operate the heated seats. Press L or M to heat the driver or passenger seat cushion and seatback. Press the control once for the highest setting. With each press of the control, the heated seat will change to the next lower setting, and then the off setting. Three lights indicate the highest setting and one light the lowest. See Heated Front Seats on page 3-5. Head Restraint Adjustment Do not drive until the head restraints for all occupants are installed and adjusted properly. To achieve a comfortable seating position, change the seatback recline angle as little as necessary while keeping the seat and the head restraint height in the proper position. See Head Restraints on page 3-2 and Power Seat Adjustment on page 3-4. Canada The passenger sensing system turns off the front outboard passenger frontal airbag and knee airbag under certain conditions. No other airbag is affected by the passenger sensing system. See Passenger Sensing System on page 3-22 for important information. In Brief 1-9 The passenger airbag status indicator will be visible on the instrument panel when the vehicle is started. See Passenger Airbag Status Indicator on page 5-13. Mirror Adjustment Exterior Controls for the outside power mirrors are on the driver door. 1. Turn the selector switch to L (Left) or R (Right) to choose the driver or passenger mirror. Turn the selector switch to the O position to deselect the mirror. See Power Mirrors on page 2-19. If the vehicle has heated mirrors, see Heated Mirrors on page 2-19. Vehicles with a manual mirror adjustment have controls next to each mirror. See Manual Mirrors on page 2-19. Interior Mirror Adjustment Adjust the rearview mirror to view the area behind the vehicle. Manual Rearview Mirror If equipped with a manual rearview mirror, push the tab forward for daytime use and pull it for nighttime use to avoid glare from the headlamps from behind. See Manual Rearview Mirror on page 2-20. Automatic Dimming Rearview Mirror If equipped with an automatic dimming rearview mirror, the mirror will automatically reduce the glare of headlamps from behind. The dimming feature comes on each time the vehicle is started. See Automatic Dimming Rearview Mirror on page 2-20. Steering Wheel Adjustment To adjust the steering wheel: 1. Pull the lever down. 2. Move the steering wheel up or down. 3. Pull or push the steering wheel closer or away from you. 4. Push the lever up to lock the steering wheel in place. Do not adjust the steering wheel while driving. Instrument Panel Illumination Control The dome lamp controls are in the headliner. * : Press to turn the lamps off, even when a door is open. I : Press to turn the lamps on automatically when a door is opened. + : Press to turn on the dome lamps. In Brief 1-11 This feature controls the brightness of the instrument panel controls and infotainment display screen. The thumbwheel is located to the left of the steering column on the instrument panel. D : Turn the thumbwheel up or down and hold, to brighten or dim the instrument panel controls and infotainment display screen. Exterior Lighting The exterior lamp control is to the left of the steering column on the instrument panel. AUTO: Turns the headlamps on automatically at normal brightness, together with the parking lamps, taillamps, license plate lamps, instrument panel lights, and sidemarker lamps. ; : Turns on the parking lamps including all lamps, except the headlamps. 5 : Turns on the headlamps together with the parking lamps and instrument panel lights. A warning chime sounds if the driver door is opened when the ignition switch is off and the headlamps are on. # : If equipped with fog lamps, press to turn the lamps on or off. See: . Daytime Running Lamps (DRL) on page 6-2 Front Fog Lamps on page 6-4 Windshield Wiper/Washer The windshield wiper/washer lever is on the right side of the steering column. With the ignition in ACC/ ACCESSORY or ON/RUN/START, move the lever to select the wiper speed. HI: Use for fast wipes. LO: Use for slow wipes. INT: Move the lever up to INT for intermittent wipes, then turn the x INT band up for more frequent wipes or down for less frequent wipes. OFF: Use to turn the wipers off. 1X : For a single wipe, briefly move the lever down. For several wipes, hold the lever down. n L : Pull the lever toward you to spray windshield washer fluid and activate the wipers. See Windshield Wiper/Washer on page 5-3. Climate Controls The heating, cooling, defrosting, and ventilation for the vehicle can be controlled with these systems. SiriusXM Satellite Radio Service SiriusXM is a satellite radio service based in the 48 contiguous United States and 10 Canadian provinces. SiriusXM satellite radio has a wide variety of programming and commercial-free music, coast to coast, and in digital-quality sound. A fee is required to receive the SiriusXM service. Bluetooth® The Bluetooth® system allows users with a Bluetooth-enabled mobile phone to make and receive hands-free calls using the vehicle audio system and controls. The Bluetooth-enabled mobile phone must be paired with the in-vehicle Bluetooth system before it can be used in the vehicle. Not all phones will support all functions. See Bluetooth (Infotainment Controls) on page 7-19 or Bluetooth (Voice Recognition) on page 7-22 or Bluetooth (Overview) on page 7-17. Steering Wheel Controls For vehicles with audio steering wheel controls, some audio controls can be adjusted at the steering wheel. b / g : For vehicles with a Bluetooth, OnStar, or navigation system, press to interact with those systems. A white indicator comes on in the instrument cluster when cruise is turned on. If there is a set speed in RES/+: memory, move the thumbwheel up briefly to resume to that speed or hold upward to accelerate. If cruise control is already active, use to increase vehicle speed. SET/−: Move the thumbwheel down briefly to set the speed and activate cruise control. If cruise control is already active, use to decrease speed. * : Press to disengage cruise control without erasing the set speed from memory. See Cruise Control on page 9-43. Navigation System If the vehicle has a navigation system, there is a separate infotainment manual that includes information on the radio, audio players, and navigation system. The navigation system provides detailed maps of most major freeways and roads. After a destination has been set, the In Brief 1-17 system provides turn-by-turn instructions for reaching the destination. In addition, the system can help locate a variety of points of interest (POIs), such as banks, airports, restaurants, and more. Driver Information Center (DIC) The DIC display is in the center of the instrument cluster. It shows the status of many vehicle systems. The controls for the DIC are on the turn signal lever. 1. SET/CLR: Press to set, or press and hold to clear, the menu item displayed. 2. w / x : Use the band to scroll through the items in each menu. This button is also used to return to or exit the last screen displayed on the DIC. See Driver Information Center (DIC) on page 5-23. Side Blind Zone Alert (SBZA) If equipped, SBZA will detect vehicles in the next lane over in the vehicle's side blind zone area. When this happens, the SBZA display will light up in the corresponding outside side mirror and will flash if the turn signal is on. See Side Blind Zone Alert (SBZA) on page 9-47. Rear Vision Camera (RVC) If equipped, RVC displays a view of the area behind the vehicle, on the infotainment system display, when the vehicle is shifted into R (Reverse). See Rear Vision Camera (RVC) on page 9-48. Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) System If equipped, the RCTA system uses a triangle with an arrow displayed on the RVC screen to warn of traffic behind your vehicle that may cross your vehicle's path while in R (Reverse). In addition, beeps will sound. See “Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA)” under Rear Vision Camera (RVC) on page 9-48. Parking Assist If equipped, this system uses sensors on the rear bumper to assist with parking and avoiding objects while in R (Reverse). It operates at speeds less than 8 km/h (5 mph). Rear Parking Assist (RPA) uses audible beeps to provide distance and system information. Keep the sensors on the vehicle's rear bumper clean to ensure proper operation. See Parking Assist on page 9-45. Power Outlets The accessory power outlets can be used to plug in electrical equipment, such as a cell phone or MP3 player. There is one accessory power outlet located on the center floor console and one on the rear of the center floor console. These outlets are powered when the key is in ON/ RUN or ACC/ACCESSORY, or until the driver door is opened within 10 minutes of turning off the vehicle. See Retained Accessory Power (RAP) on page 9-23. See Power Outlets on page 5-6. The system turns on automatically every time the vehicle is started. The StabiliTrak system assists with directional control of the vehicle in difficult driving conditions. The system also turns on automatically every time the vehicle is started. To turn off traction control, press and release the g button on the center console. The traction off light i illuminates. To turn off both traction control and StabiliTrak, press and hold the g button, until the traction off light i and the StabiliTrak OFF light g illuminate. . Press and release the g button again to turn on both systems. See Traction Control/Electronic Stability Control on page 9-41. Tire Pressure Monitor This vehicle may have a Tire Pressure Monitor System (TPMS). The low tire pressure warning light alerts to a significant loss in pressure of one of the vehicle's tires. If the warning light comes on, stop as soon as possible and inflate the tires to the recommended pressure shown on the Tire and Loading Information label. See Vehicle Load Limits on page 9-9. The warning light will remain on until the tire pressure is corrected. In Brief 1-19 The low tire pressure warning light may come on in cool weather when the vehicle is first started, and then turn off as the vehicle is driven. This may be an early indicator that the tire pressures are getting low and the tires need to be inflated to the proper pressure. The TPMS does not replace normal monthly tire maintenance. Maintain the correct tire pressures. See Tire Pressure Monitor System on page 10-52. Engine Oil Life System The engine oil life system calculates engine oil life based on vehicle use and displays the CHANGE ENGINE OIL SOON DIC message when it is necessary to change the engine oil and filter. Remember, the Oil Life display must be reset after each oil change. It will not reset itself. Also, be careful not to reset the Oil Life display accidentally at any time other than when the oil has just been changed. To reset the engine oil life system press the SET/CLR button while the Oil Life display is active. Resetting the Oil Life System 1. Using the DIC MENU button and thumbwheel, scroll until you reach REMAINING OIL LIFE on the DIC (: % for Canada). 2. Press the SET/CLR button to reset the oil life at 100%. When prompted, use the thumbwheel to highlight YES or NO. Press the SET/CLR button to confirm. Be careful not to reset the oil life display accidentally at any time other than after the oil is changed. It cannot be reset accurately. See Engine Oil Life System on page 10-15. Driving for Better Fuel Economy Driving habits can affect fuel mileage. Here are some driving tips to get the best fuel economy possible. . Avoid fast starts and accelerate smoothly. . Brake gradually and avoid abrupt stops. . Avoid idling the engine for long periods of time. . When road and weather conditions are appropriate, use cruise control. . Always follow posted speed limits or drive more slowly when conditions require. . Keep vehicle tires properly inflated. . Combine several trips into a single trip. . Replace the vehicle's tires with the same TPC Spec number molded into the tire's sidewall near the size. Follow recommended scheduled maintenance. Diesel Particulate Filter The engine is equipped with a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) that, by design, will filter or trap particulates. The DPF is under the vehicle in the exhaust system. Depending on a number of factors monitored by the engine computer, the DPF will need to be cleaned of accumulated solids. When a cleaning is needed, the engine computer will initiate a cleaning action by warming the exhaust gas temperature. This feature has been designed to operate automatically, with limited operator involvement or awareness. Chevrolet Cruze Owner Manual (GMNA-Localizing-U.S./Canada-7707493) - 2015 - crc - 11/24/14 Black plate (21,1) Cleaning the DPF (Exhaust Filter) While the DPF cleaning is automatically controlled by the engine computer, the vehicle will need to operate continuously for approximately 25 minutes and at speeds greater than 48 km/h (30 mph) to clean the DPF effectively. Special DPF Driver Messages If the vehicle is used for numerous short trips or extended slow-speed operation, the engine computer may not be able to adequately heat up the exhaust system to clean the DPF effectively. The engine computer has been designed to continuously monitor the condition of the DPF. When the engine computer detects that the DPF is nearly full of particulates and that the vehicle is not being operated in a manner that would allow effective automatic DPF cleaning, a Driver Information Center (DIC) message will display. If the vehicle continues to be driven in a manner that prevents effective DPF cleaning, the DPF will become plugged with particulates. If this occurs, the engine computer will turn on the service engine soon light in the instrument cluster and a DIC message will display. See Diesel Particulate Filter on page 9-26, Engine Power Messages on page 5-29, and Diesel Particulate Filter Messages on page 5-30. Fuel Use Ultra-Low Sulfur Diesel Fuel (ULSD) Use Ultra-Low Sulfur Diesel Fuel (ULSD) only. The emission control hardware used on the vehicle may be damaged by using fuel with high sulfur levels. Use only fuel that is dispensed from pumps bearing the ULSD label. Do Not Use Low Sulfur Diesel Fuel (LSD) Do not use fuel that is dispensed from pumps bearing the LSD label. In Brief 1-21 Do Not Use Non-Highway Fuel Fuel labeled as off road or non-highway is typically very high in sulfur content and will damage the emission control system. Non-highway fuel is not intended for use in on-highway vehicles. In addition: . Use the correct engine oil. . Do not add gasoline to diesel fuel. . Do not modify the induction or exhaust systems. See Fuel for Diesel Engines on page 9-53 and Engine Oil on page 10-11. Diesel Exhaust Fluid Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) is used with diesel engines to reduce the amount of regulated emissions produced. The DEF system must be maintained for the vehicle to run Chevrolet Cruze Owner Manual (GMNA-Localizing-U.S./Canada-7707493) - 2015 - crc - 11/24/14 Black plate (22,1) Diagnostic Services. OnStar services may require a paid subscription. See OnStar Overview on page 14-1. 1-22 In Brief properly. It is normal to hear the DEF system purge fluid back into the tank after the vehicle is shut off. Locating Diesel Exhaust Fluid DEF can be purchased at a Chevrolet dealer. It can also be purchased at authorized vehicle dealerships. Additionally, some diesel fueling stations or retailers may have DEF for purchase. For vehicles with an active OnStar® subscription, OnStar can help to locate a DEF retailer. See “Customer Assistance Offices” in the owner manual for phone numbers to assist you in contacting a GM dealer. See Recommended Fluids and Lubricants on page 11-12. As the DEF tank becomes low on fluid, warnings begin with approximately 1 600 km (1,000 miles) of remaining range. These warnings will increase in intensity as the tank becomes empty. Once the tank is empty, the vehicle speed will be limited. If there is an issue with the quality of the fluid or the exhaust fluid system, warnings will be displayed in the Driver Information Center (DIC). See Diesel Exhaust Fluid on page 9-27. They could operate the power window or other controls or make the vehicle move. The windows will function with the key in the ignition or with the RKE transmitter in the vehicle, and children or others could be caught in the path of a closing window. Do not leave children in a vehicle with the ignition key or an RKE transmitter. See OnStar® on page 1-22. Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) System See Radio Frequency Statement on page 13-12. If there is a decrease in the RKE operating range: . Check the distance. The transmitter may be too far from the vehicle. . Check the location. Other vehicles or objects may be blocking the signal. . Check the transmitter's battery. See “Battery Replacement” later in this section. If the transmitter is still not working correctly, see your dealer or a qualified technician for service. The key that is part of the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter can be used for the ignition and all locks if the vehicle is a key access vehicle. If the vehicle has the keyless ignition, the key can be used for the locks. Press the button on the RKE transmitter to extend the key. Press the button and the key blade to retract the key. If it becomes difficult to turn the key, inspect the key blade for debris. Periodically clean with a brush or pick. See your dealer if a new key is needed. If locked out of the vehicle, see Roadside Assistance Program on page 13-5. See “Keyless Access Operation” later in this section. The transmitter functions may work up to 60 m (195 ft) away from the vehicle. Keep in mind that other conditions, such as those previously stated, can impact the performance of the transmitter. Pressing Q may also arm the alarm system. See Vehicle Alarm System on page 2-16. K (Unlock): Press to unlock the driver door or all doors. See Vehicle Personalization on page 5-36. The turn signal indicators may flash to indicate unlocking. See Vehicle Personalization on page 5-36. Pressing K will disarm the alarm system. See Vehicle Alarm System on page 2-16. Y (Remote Trunk Release): Press and hold to release the trunk. 7 (Vehicle Locator/Panic Alarm): Press and hold briefly to initiate vehicle locator. The exterior lamps flash and the horn chirps three times. Press and hold 7 for at least three seconds to sound the panic alarm. The horn sounds and the turn signals flash for 30 seconds, or until 7 is pressed again or the vehicle is started. Q (Lock): Press to lock all doors. The turn signal indicators may flash and/or the horn may sound on the second press to indicate locking. See Vehicle Personalization on page 5-36. If the driver door is open when Q is pressed, all doors lock except the driver door, if Unlocked Door Anti Lock Out is enabled through the vehicle personalization. If the passenger door is open when Q is pressed, all doors lock. See Vehicle Personalization on page 5-36. Keyless Unlocking/Locking from the Driver Door When the doors are locked and the RKE transmitter is within range of the door handle, pressing the lock/ unlock button on the driver door handle will unlock the driver door. If the lock/unlock button is pressed again within five seconds, all passenger doors will unlock. / (Remote Vehicle Start): If equipped, press and release Q and then immediately press and hold / for at least four seconds to start the engine from outside the vehicle using the RKE transmitter. See Remote Vehicle Start on page 2-9. The RKE transmitter buttons will not operate when the key is in the ignition. Keyless Access Operation The Keyless Access system allows for the doors and trunk to be locked and unlocked without pressing the RKE transmitter button. The RKE transmitter must be within 1 m (3 ft) of the door being opened. If the vehicle has this feature, there will be a button on the outside door handles. Driver Side Shown, Passenger Similar Pressing the lock/unlock button will cause all doors to lock if any of the following occur: It has been more than five seconds since the first lock/ unlock button press. Two lock/unlock button presses were used to unlock all doors. . Any vehicle door has been opened and all doors are now closed. Pressing the lock/unlock button will cause all doors to lock if any of the following occur: The lock/unlock button was used to unlock all doors. . Any vehicle door has been opened and all doors are now closed. Passive Locking If equipped with Keyless Access, the vehicle will lock several seconds after all doors are closed if the vehicle is off and at least one RKE transmitter has been removed or none remain in the vehicle. If other electronic devices interfere with the RKE transmitter signal, the vehicle may not detect the RKE transmitter inside the vehicle. If passive locking is enabled, the doors may lock with the RKE transmitter inside the vehicle. Do not leave the RKE transmitter in an unattended vehicle. Temporary Disable Passive Locking Feature Temporarily disable the passive locking by pressing and holding K on the interior door switch with a door open for at least four seconds, or until three chimes are heard. Passive locking will then remain disabled until Q on the interior door is pressed, or until the vehicle is turned on. To customize the doors to automatically lock when exiting the vehicle, see Vehicle Personalization on page 5-36. Keyless Trunk Opening Press the touch pad on the rear of the trunk above the license plate to open the trunk when the RKE transmitter is in range. Keyed Access To access a vehicle with a dead transmitter battery, see Door Locks on page 2-11. Programming Transmitters to the Vehicle Only RKE transmitters programmed to the vehicle will work. If a transmitter is lost or stolen, a replacement can be purchased and programmed through your dealer. The vehicle can be reprogrammed so that lost or stolen transmitters no longer work. Any remaining transmitters will need to be reprogrammed. Each vehicle can have up to eight transmitters matched to it. Programming with a Recognized Transmitter (Key Vehicles Only) To program a new key: 1. Insert the original, already programmed key in the ignition and turn the key to the ON/RUN position. Insert the new key to be programmed and turn it to the ON/RUN position within five seconds. The security light will turn off once the key has been programmed. 4. Repeat Steps 1–3 if additional keys are to be programmed. If a key is lost or damaged, see your dealer to have a new key made. Programming without a Recognized Transmitter (Key Vehicles Only) Program a new key to the vehicle when a recognized key is not available. Canadian regulations require that owners see their dealer. If there are no currently recognized keys available, follow this procedure to program the first key. This procedure will take approximately 30 minutes to complete for the first key. The vehicle must be off and all of the keys you wish to program must be with you. 1. Insert the new vehicle key into the ignition. 2. Turn to ON/RUN. The security light will come on. 3. Wait 10 minutes until the security light turns off. 4. Turn the ignition to LOCK/OFF. 5. Repeat Steps 2–4 two more times. After the third time, turn to ON/RUN; the key is learned and all previously known keys will no longer work with the vehicle. Remaining keys can be learned by following the procedure in “Programming with a Recognized Transmitter (Key Vehicles Only).” Programming with a Recognized Transmitter (Keyless Access Vehicles Only) A new transmitter can be programmed to the vehicle when there is one recognized transmitter. Press the button on the recognized transmitter to extend the key blade. Insert the key blade into the transmitter slot. Insert the vehicle key of the new transmitter into the key lock cylinder on the outside of the driver door and turn the key to the unlock position five times within 10 seconds. The Driver Information Center (DIC) displays READY FOR REMOTE #2, 3, 4 or 5. 3. Remove the recognized key and place the new transmitter into the transmitter slot. 4. Press the ENGINE START/ STOP button. When the transmitter is learned, the DIC will show that it is ready to program the next transmitter. 5. Remove the transmitter from the transmitter pocket and press K. To program additional transmitters, repeat Steps 3–5. When all additional transmitters are programmed, press and hold the ENGINE START/STOP button for 12 seconds to exit programming mode. Replace the plastic trim piece from the small storage area. Programming without a Recognized Transmitter (Keyless Access Vehicles Only) If there are no currently recognized transmitters available, follow this procedure to program up to five transmitters. This feature is not available in Canada. This procedure will take approximately 30 minutes to complete. The vehicle must be off and all of the transmitters you wish to program must be with you. 1. Insert the vehicle key of the transmitter into the key lock cylinder on the outside of the driver door and turn the key to the unlock position five times within 10 seconds. The Driver Information Center (DIC) displays REMOTE LEARN PENDING, PLEASE WAIT. 2. Wait for 10 minutes until the DIC displays PRESS ENGINE START BUTTON TO LEARN and then press the ENGINE START/STOP button. The DIC displays will again show REMOTE LEARN PENDING, PLEASE WAIT. After the third time all previously known transmitters will no longer work with the vehicle. Remaining transmitters can be relearned during the next steps. The DIC display should now show READY FOR REMOTE # 1. 4. Press the button on the recognized transmitter to extend the key blade. Insert the key blade into the transmitter slot. DETECTED when tying to start the vehicle. The REPLACE BATTERY IN REMOTE KEY message may also be displayed at this time. 5. Press the ENGINE START/ STOP button. When the transmitter is learned the DIC will show that it is ready to program the next transmitter. 6. Remove the transmitter from the transmitter slot and press K. To program additional transmitters, repeat Steps 4–6. When all additional transmitters are programmed, press and hold the ENGINE START/STOP button for 12 seconds to exit programming mode. Starting the Vehicle with a Low Transmitter Battery If the transmitter battery is weak or if there is interference with the signal, the DIC may display NO REMOTE To start the vehicle: 1.
