will a 245/40/18 fit on a vt commodore front any one know i got 245/45/18 and they hit the front struts

i got ve ssv rims and they have 245/45/18 and want to know if 245/40/18 will miss the strut the 45 just rub

I have a set of 245/40/18's on my WH with no issue of clearance. But yes 45's will hit.

these VE SS rims you have, have they been machine to fit a pre VE?? Changing tyres will not fix it if not. smile.gif

well for starters, 245/45/18's are illegal fitment on any pre VE commodore.




245/40/18 should fit depending on rim offset.

235/40R18 might be a better choise, tyre deflection while cornering can still cause rubbing issues due to the wtidh of the stock VE rim

Obviously they would be machined because if the centre bore was stock VE, the tyre would not even be close enough to the strut as they would not seat over the hub etc.

i have ve ss 19s with prefile 235/245 on the front and 240/245 on the back on my vt

runnning 245-45 on ve ss 18's only rubs front gaurd rubber at full lock on an hill....

what strut are you running?

should fit but rim offset will be the biggest thing.
