hey guys, just wondering is it worth changing from a vz my06 berlina 3.6l alloytec to a vy 2004 calais supercharged 3.8l ecotec? would this be considered an upgrade or downgrade |

Ive driven a v6 supercharged calais and they dont go any quicker at all, in saying that they are allot nicer car than the VZ Berlina so I'd say upgrade. Make sure you get the model that has leather interior, dual climate control, parking sensors etc as not all have them. Also a Holden Design kit look awesome so try find one with that already on |

well, what one is worth more? Actually thats not really an accurate judgement. Id say its no better or worse off i guess. Although dont just go for the super 6 expecting it to be some powerhouse, because they arent. with a few bits from mace, they get along qutie nicely could get mace CAI, 11.5 psi pully and get a set of 1.9.1 ratio roller rockers and still have change from a grand. throw in at least a twin 2 and a 1/4 exhaust should see you the best part of 200 rwkw and plenty of torque to boot. |

My 2003 VY Acclaim had an Alloytec? LOL, engine production had not even begun until 2004. The plant was not operational EDIT: Go search Carsales for ANY VY that has an Alloytec engine |

My 2003 VY Acclaim had an Alloytec? good thing you had a '?' there.... Come to think of it the engine looked like an ecotec one, sounded different and had factory "alloytec v6" badges on the car. I just googled alloytec and mine looked nothing like it ![]() Made in a factory but not factory fitted. |
