What type of car? Matty Spry @ Pits if you want Goldcoast. or EFI performance at stapylton. He'd be pretty overworked surely? Everyone recommends him if you live in SEQ. |

Yeah, but keep in mind there are always the percentage of people that don't go to him, then there is the percentage that go see him when he is cranky and never go back, then the rest caught him on a good day and reccomend him to everyone ![]() |

QUOTE Gavin Wood hmm yes. Had my tune done there..... Felt somthing was up. Took it to another workshop down my way who ran it up, and it was an eye opener. Ill just say this. You want your engine to stay in good health?.. its wise to keep looking around. Matty spry is good. Ever considered a short trip to brisbane? Have some decent tuners down this way. |

yeah if u want max power go to matty spry but dont expect ur engine to last long if u wanna be told u have bad earth on everything go to EFI performance if u want ur engine to last go to hi torque Had this myself. My plug and Play ecu somehow turned into a large re-wire of alot of things Also came out down about 100hp. Previously trapping 121mph and prior to cam install making 389rwhp and trapping 118mph. After Efi's tune and even more boost it came out making 300hp. 2months of them trying to sort it out (nothing changed except the ECU, Emanage unplugged and wolf plugged in), they tried blaming boost leaks, cam timing, exhaust, leaking BOV. All these things were fine and not touched since the 121mph run, but they charged me to check them anyway. In the end i ended up with 330 hp and they could not get more out of it. The tune was ordinary and a car was making less power than what a mildly modified setup would have made with a standard ecu and injectors.. In the end i got over it, as i was sick of the car being in the workshop for so long that i sold it. On the other hand I have heard good things from nissan owners. I would just be reluctant to take a toyota there again. |

yeah if u want max power go to matty spry but dont expect ur engine to last long if u wanna be told u have bad earth on everything go to EFI performance if u want ur engine to last go to hi torque Ask HiTorque about the wonderful customer service they provided(along with a shit tune) in the red VX SS one of my mates owns. He got a basic 22x cam fitted, the engine barely ran and would not idle at all after they had the car for 4 hours on the dyno. As soon as he started the car, it stalled. Drove out the driveway, it stalled. He turned around, drove it back where they told him that it must have a faulty oil pump and it would need to be replaced. He went through a tank of fuel between leaving the HiTorque and Ballina with another full tank between Ballina and Coffs. After being told numerous times that it was not their problem the engine only made 263rwKw(it made 250 before the cam!) with a worked LS1 with cam/higgins head etc and that it had to be an oil problem. I plugged in my PLX Scan Gauge and data logged the tune. Called Oztrack, got sent a custom mail order tune and sure enough, engine idles fine, drives fine, shifts fine but it was down a little on power compared to what it could have been. My mate goes to Sydney and gets Oztrack to complete an onroad tune where the engine with exact same mods as the 263 HiTorque tune makes 318rwKw with safe AFR's and perfect timing tables. Funnily enough, no oil pump was needed ![]() Sure, 237rwKw 'might' make the engine last but I am sure the current tune being the correct tune will make the car a LOT more fun to drive and last just as long. The guys at HiTorque would know the car well ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Firstly the car came to me with out the heads on it so 260rwkw is a normal figure for your mods correct me if wrong?. The customer was adviced to remove airflow meter and mafless tune car but had a ss inductions airflow meter that had paid good money for tune around it also had a std stall convertor on std diff gears the car is always going to be on the edge of idle. Oil pump? the customer wanted to know why there is a lifter noise in the car when driving! in some cases the lifter become noiser when fitting the fast manifold because its made of polymar plastic not think GM material it generates more noise. If wanting to fix this noise change the oil pump which gives more oil pressure at low engine rpm therfore quiter operation, not rocket science. 318rwkw well done bring it by for a free dyno run but sounds a bit high( but you did say you road tuned it so it might feel like 318rwkw) 2nd gear chirps? |

This is way you pick a workshop and stay with it so thry know what has been done to the car since they do the work and fix your own fuckups on the car. But jumping from work shop to work shop to try save a dew pennys doesnt work well at when something does go wrong with the car and the "new" workshops has noidea about whats been done so they have to go and check everything on the car. |

pits QUOTE yeah if u want max power go to matty spry but dont expect ur engine to last long this makes me laugh.... if any thing... matty is one of the safest tuners around... ur engine is bound to last the longest cause he doesnt tune them to the verge of popping unlike other workshops already mentioned |

So what happened when it was stalling, not idling and the knock sensors were going off constantly though after it left? It did not 'feel' like it had more than 260rwKw when he got smoked by a stock VX auto with a mafless tune. Surely the red VX was taken for a road test at some point? The Fast manifold was already on before the cam went in, had no lifter noise and now that the new tune is in the car, the rattling noise is completely gone and no need for a new oil pump at all. A maf tune is not that hard to get right but using fuel trims of up to 25%? Stock intake manifold is polymer as well and even when it was temporarily refitted, it made no difference to the noise. Sure, the customer had no complaints from the original tune before the cam went in(the original tune was fine with the FAST 92 as well) but after he got the cold shoulder when it was running like shit after the cam was installed and the guy on the phone he spoke to NUMEROUS times who said he would call back and NEVER did(alright, I believe he called back once ut M logged every call and the guy never called back when it counted) He never ever bothered replying when the rocker covers were lifted and one of the valve locks was only being held in by the roller rocker... I was there when the call was made, overheard the convo but no call back on a customer who had a major issue Funnily enough, it idles fine now with a small lope, drives fine and shifts beautifully. 3rd chirps ![]() As for 300+rwKw: http://www.ls1.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=129510 Oztrack tuned a car a few weeks before that was 'similiar' so sent up a mail order tune that was near perfect. Happy to take this to PM if required, iamhappy = SNAP! You are a fukn Fool... Go see the guys down at Hi-Torque... They have a crazy amount of knowledge with all types of cars/setups/custom jobs... Awesome guys to deal with and straight up no fuss! Where is the SNAP? |

"The Fast manifold was already on before the cam went in, had no lifter noise and now that the new tune is in the car" I noticed you have put new lifters in it on the other forum yet you blame the tune for creating lifter noise! A LS1 airflow meter becomes a restriction anything above 280rwkw because of it physical size. We can argue about this all day but i can't keep every customer happy, i try to! but can't because some won't listen or won't take your advice! |

Happy Days Bitchs! Hey Muppet, How about you drive your 9001hp shitbox into a brick wall for all we care, this was a civil debate before you came in here rattling off insults and swearing like a lowbreed. Cheers. |

DYSON ROTARY Craig is the man Craig is no longer there . And due to hard times and slow business unfortunatly Dyson Rotary and Performance will be closing too. So much hanging shit wow In my time in the industry shooting cars, majority of them have been tuned and or worked on by hi torque, matty spry, godzilla motorsports, and quite a few of late from ben hunt at rotary motorsport. I have dealt with all of the companys and would have no hesitation in sending anyone to any of the workshops mentioned. |
