Merry christmas everyone...

First of all, i know this is a kinda stupid question, but i just wanna find out what my options are without chasing my tail through qld transport...

I have a car rego'd in QLD, and it has run out (14/10/09)

What is involved with re-registering it, do i have to get a road worthy?

I was told if its within 3 months you dont need one?

can anyone confirm this please!

Cheers

AFAIK you only need a RWC after 2-3 months? On my rego renewal a while ago, there was a penalty fee for paying after it expired, but no mention of needing a new RWC. Hope that helps more than the other replies in here. smile.gif

Can't hurt to bring the car up to code anyway. Less trouble from the cops

This is correct, i have the reminder sheet in front of me as one of my daily's needs to be renewed by January, and it expired in November.

They automatically de-register the vehicle after the 2 months has passed.

Ive heard if you bpay it through australia post it will renew it without a roady...but not 100% on it

2 months after the expiry date it automatically cancels on the system.

You will need a Vehicle Registration Application form, a current safety certificate and your previous registration certificate (which will exempt you from stamp duty).

only after 2 months does the registration auto cancel and then you will have to re register your vehicle with a road worthy

Go to qld transport website, click renew with changes, then pay away, i was 2 months and 13 days out and it was accepted.
