i've noticed a trend.. and that is that 180sx's cost a fair bit more in comparison to the overall price compared to that of a silvia... for example your average silvia is probably $7-$11k and your average 180sx is probably $9-$14k why is this because as far as i know.. everything is the same, except for a slanted back/boot and popup lights... so why do people pay more for a 180sx tthen a silvia? perhalps there are less 180's then silvias ? i don't know.. can someone fill me in? -------------------- -Fast and cheap won't be reliable, cheap and reliable won't be fast, Fast and reliable won't be cheap!

For starters you have the difference in engines CA18 vers SR20 most silvias are CA and the majority of the 180's are SR. Theres also difference in looks as obvioulsy pointed out. They share the same platform ie s13 chassis so almost all componets are interchangeable I guess it would most likely come down to personal choice..... |

i think because of the style of the 180SX. i would pay more money for a 180SX then getting a silvia because there more style in the bodykits u can for it. |

er.. dude, sil + 180 = both nissan, interchangable parts, also combinable to make one car, hows that even comparable to falcon vs commodore? completely different shit and smell there, engines, drivetrains, the works.. straight vs V, heavy vs light, ugly vs not |

i agree here. i think the 180's look a lot more sleeklined and styled over an s13, no offence to any s13 owners, especially the last model 180's i saw a silver N/A 180 that looked magic. |

isn't a 180 a s13? |

Yeah but a lot of people call s13 silvias just s13's to avoid confusion between s13, s14 and s15 silvias. |

alot of the feedback on this thread is useless and makes no since. however a couple of people have made good points. first of all as yall think 180s look better, silvias have speaker decks connecting both quarter panels which ads rigidity. the coupe (silvia) style also has less blind spot for me anyways. it is lighter, it has digital speedometer and heads up display on the windshield, it also has an electric sunroof instead of the manual one. as far as my research has gone it is also the dominant frame of the s chassis. this is why there is an s15 silvia. both models have different motors to choose from and thats where your price will differ. 91 and up silvias also carry sr20de and sr20det. i dont see how these people say its rare to find an sr20 in a silvia but whatever floats ure boat lol. i hope this post helps your question out a little |
