Fn Lol, I managed to buy an old Hilux Surf that supposedly had a stuffed turbo and injector pump, as when it was under load with a few revs on, it would die. They had it to 3 mechanics, I just wanted the bottom end so no dramas. I was stripping it down and when taking off the A/C pump, I noticed the blingo aftermarket silicon hose elbow was super soft, so I swapped it with the harder factory one, problem solved. The Silicon one was sucking in from the internal bend so harder to see, the the extra vacuum pulled oil past the turbo seals so it did look like blown turbo and the lack of air made it pump out rich. A win for me $35 fix and a great old beach basher for a while. |
