Are you complaining about how the media changes things to suit their opinion (aaaahhhhh....no shit!) or is it about how residents are complaining because they have to deal with moto riding near their family homes? (no comment)

PLZ: dont be idiots about this, the way residents act these days they would have us locked in our rooms and forbidden to making any noise FFS
the bush is the bush if your gunna live near bush and a motorway then why the phark whinge about abit of dust.

i for one know the old coach road/quarry and mate i played in there and it aint that bad, yeah a few bikes and 4wd's use it but do they want them in there or on our roads?

dont want your washing dirty at sunset then take it in and dont be a lazy MOFO and leave it out overnight then.

rant over

i seen many a good place being shut down by whinging old SOB's
they take our race tracks then our 4wd spots then the bikes,i guess they wanna push us onto the roads,we'll see this weekend a few cops hanging about now out at reedy creek for sure cause it is private land and the owner has blocked off alot of it to stop ppl using it.

so i understand the owners views but not some idiot whinging about abit of dust we live in australia 90% of it is dirt FFS get over it!

That sucks.. those tracks have been there way before the housing even got built from what i know... My dad lives very close to the track and has never had a problem. Seems like alot of bullshit to me!

same thing happening to wheelstanders up here in brisbane. harvey norman moves in 15 years after the club is established and then whinge about the noise and dust.

*TiMy*
Post #8

yes but all the dust is from the near by developments. from excavators lol. also they were there and left by 11am so that pic is in the arvo so its from a diff day . and the closest house is probably 1km away nearly as were the houses are closer to the moto x track dont complain.

HOON69
Post #9

i know the development your talking about too,i'd bet that pic was from those pharkers and not from the bikes

you'd think that the qaurry being so close to the M1 or mwy there'd be more complaints from road users then from residents 1-3 k's away

whingers looking for a reason to stop us having a few hours a week fun

someone should google earth a pic of the area just to prove our point wink.gif

That's it ... residents move into an area where they know a track of some kind is then whinge and bitch until they get it shut down. Another example is Darlington Park dry.gif

There is a track out at Ipswich, that has been there for 20-30 years, and it has almost been shut down due to complaints from people who built their houses in the area. A road racing track in Stanthorpe has been restricted to 8 race days a year for the exact same reason. There is a growing number of riders, yet the places to legally ride are slowly closing down.

*TiMy*
Post #12

yer i no it sucks the wang , they recon there trying to build a place at molendinar or pimpa for ppl to ride . but it will only be another moto x track. wich is awsome but wat about the ppl that arnt confident to ride a track yet or want to ride in an open area . thats y we have secret spots to ride but soon enough they will also be shut down . give it 2 yrs and there will be less dirt bikes and more road bikes. more road bike fatalites and then they will have some thing serious to think about but untill somthing tragic happens all the care about is the old pensioners that cant stand the noise . dead set there was not a person under 50 at the protest !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cross over the M1 Davey at the end of Reedy Creek Road, turn left at the roundabout and it's down near the dump.

Am I the only one who read a completely different story?

I read that the complaints were from residents who had motorbike riders riding through the development sites near their houses - not the track. If I was them, I'd be pissed too. Just because it doesn't have a house on it, doesn't mean it's free reign for all to use.

I'm in the middle here - I understand that there's always a small minority of massive whingers who are emphasised. And I also understand that with urban sprawl there are less and less places to use, but honestly, just because it was used for years and someone buys the land, doesn't mean you have any rights.

to me just sticky nosed sob's looking for a arguement to pick

and that'd be like trying to take the country to the city, and the city to the country, it doesnt work.

and when you got 4wd's and bikes whom have used this land since before houses were on it then some twit with money just moves in, builds then whinges later well thats BS imho
its like building a house near a airport and then complaining of the noise.

mate with water restrictions it aint like your cars gunna be clean long anyways and the dust pfft so they can stand a few bikes a few hours a week riding in the bush, maybe they should move into the city build em sound sound proof windows and hide under their tables the sooks.

again media over hypes the problem makes up bs stats takes a few ppls opinions and writes it to their advantage.

imho put up or shutup and unless its your land and your safety DIRECTLY involved then mind your business and leave these guys along.

ffs a few hours a week of noise LOL you'd hear the MWY 24/7 and they put up with that dont they(residents) laugh.gif

Gotta agree with HOON69.

When I was out riding there was jack all places other then the very popular paradise rd. But my mate had been using the old Golf course at Ormeau (spell). don't know if you's have been there and if so check it out, mate said it ain't to bad, pretty hilly.

id imagine that that o so wonderful thing called "public liability" would have something to do with the tracks being shut down. thanks to the totally screwed up times we live in where a moron resident could walk into the track and get hit and sue everyone, even tho they walked into the middle of the track or someone ride through the undeveloped land, crash and sue the government for not fencing the area properly....the governemnt probably sees it easier to just shut the tracks completely and kick everyone out.
remember this...the residents pay rates, the people who use the tracks dont...who do u think the government is going to back?

unfortuantly the residents have a right they payd money for the land and house and anything that bothers them they can go to the media/and council about

unfortunatly they have ever rite to do what they are doing because i know myself i work hard 5 days a week and all i wanna do on a saturday and sunday is relax and i wouldnt like the sound of dirt bikes all day long or having my washing drity'd just after i hung it out!

or sighn's taken down or my plants ripped out dry.gif

depending on the protest from the residants the council wont take this lightly and within about 6 months they will ban u guys from going there!!

and also

That has to be the worst, most skewed argument I have ever heard.

As a property owner, I have rights. One of my rights is that I can peacefully enjoy my property. Using your argument, let's think of it this way. If I bought a house next door, or even just parked my car in front of your house, and played music as loud as I could all day and night, I'm sure you'd be mighty pissed. But according to you, you have absolutely no right to have a whinge to the police or media, because it ain't your yard or property.

I think your missing the point here - this is private property they're riding on. That makes it trespassing. It doesn't matter whether it used to be free domain five years ago, it's owned by someone now, and they shouldn't be on it in the first place. I wouldn't be surprised if the owner ended up constructing fences around the whole property.

As for the motorway - do you really think they "don't mind"? Haven't you noticed those large wooden barriers being constructed along the side of the motorway over the past few years? Why do you think they're there? Because residents complained about the noise. But further, have you ever lived near a motorway or airport? When you live directly near an area of constant noise, you get used to it. I used to live directly below the flightpath of a RAAF base which would have a range of aircraft regularly flying overhead include Hercules, US Starlifters and the US Galaxy. Not exactly quiet aircraft. However because it was so regular (for example, every day at 11:05am, a Herc would pass over), you get used to it. Intermittent sound, like dirtbikes, you don't get used to.

Legally you have no rights on this issue, live with it.

now thats just bull shit.

for all of you who say i dont want my house or clothes covered in dirt then dont buy a house near a race track.

it's a bit like dick heads who buy a house near an airport then complain about the noise of the planes.

that moto track at burleigh heads has been there for more than 40 years which was long before any houses were built there.

this is the exact same reason why we dont have surfers drag strip anymore because a few rich wankers want to build right near it then whinge about the noise.

people like this need a labotomy or to pull their head out there arse and stop trying to ruin things for others.

go and live in the center of australia where no noise can affect you. bloody wankers.

from what i understood of the article it said that they didnt like the bikes on private property which is fair enough. if they were whiging about the track then that is bullshit but the article wasnt written about that

i used to be a member of reedy creek moto cross club and new that there would be trouble.

postman: i remember racing at wheelstanders and they made the track that wet to stop dust that one guy got bogged and they had to dig his bike out with a bobcat. it was bullshit

Finally! Someone else who has read the article, instead of reading the posts and formulating their own ideas as to what the article was about.

The residents are complaining about people riding on a subdivision, yet to be developed. It's privately owned. They don't live next to the race track. That's not what they're complaining about.

Mate we're talking about a large group of people, who have invested hundreds and thousands of dollars into buying their own homes, worked their asses off to get it for all their lives, and finally decide to settle down and what happens...... fucking motos come out and pollute the air around their houses and make all the noise in the world, go somewhere else, I think it's selfish that you expect these people to suffer so you can ride your bikes. Remember they're not moving in on your territory, you never owned the land that you claim to be "your moto track". Ride your bikes somewhere else and the problem is solved.

I think the nearest is a bit more then 1km. As everyone has said, it's the new developments that have caused all the dust and shit.

I've been riding for years. Everytime we find a decent area to go riding shit like this happens. A group of ppl less then the size of a football team have a fucking whinge. Next thing you know you have the cops down there giving us all fines for minding our own business due to less then 0.01% of the local population having a whinge. Kinda ironic if you ask me.

Same thing happened down where i use to live. Newport use to have a few ok bush tracks. Then the rick fucks move in and complain about the "noise and dust" and yet they don't bitch during the week when 100+ trucks roar up and down the same stretch with their loads of dirt, or when they cop 50x the amount of dust from their trucks compared to a 125 or 250cc motor bike.

Use to be bad enough when we got haggled out of bridge to nowhere due to "industrial property owners" complaining about us riding out there. I mean there isn't even anyone there on the weekends to hear the noise but they still bitch about it.

Talk about trying to kill the youth of today. Ffs, first ppl bitch about kids/teenages not getting outside, and when they do they try and spoil our fun. Get a fucking life old cARnts

Yes this may be true. i read the article as well so don't have a go at myself.

But there have been articles in the past about the same thing with regards to the quarries. Just from my understanding of prior similar things, first they'll shut that down, then they'll try for the quarry.

And the race track? who cares about the race track? it's like going to the ekka or dreamworld. Why would you stand in a line for a hour for 1minute of enjoyment? you wouldn't.

Hence why ppl like myself go to bush/quarries/and yes i'll admit - undeveloped land. You can only see what you want. but if you were actually a rider like some of the other members on this site are you would know this story all too well by now.
