Are you complaining about how the media changes things to suit their opinion (aaaahhhhh....no shit!) or is it about how residents are complaining because they have to deal with moto riding near their family homes? (no comment) |

My dad lives very close to the track and has never had a problem. Seems like alot of bullshit to me! That's it ... residents move into an area where they know a track of some kind is then whinge and bitch until they get it shut down. Another example is Darlington Park |

There is a track out at Ipswich, that has been there for 20-30 years, and it has almost been shut down due to complaints from people who built their houses in the area. A road racing track in Stanthorpe has been restricted to 8 race days a year for the exact same reason. There is a growing number of riders, yet the places to legally ride are slowly closing down. |

yer i no it sucks the wang , they recon there trying to build a place at molendinar or pimpa for ppl to ride . but it will only be another moto x track. wich is awsome but wat about the ppl that arnt confident to ride a track yet or want to ride in an open area . thats y we have secret spots to ride but soon enough they will also be shut down . give it 2 yrs and there will be less dirt bikes and more road bikes. more road bike fatalites and then they will have some thing serious to think about but untill somthing tragic happens all the care about is the old pensioners that cant stand the noise . dead set there was not a person under 50 at the protest !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

id imagine that that o so wonderful thing called "public liability" would have something to do with the tracks being shut down. thanks to the totally screwed up times we live in where a moron resident could walk into the track and get hit and sue everyone, even tho they walked into the middle of the track or someone ride through the undeveloped land, crash and sue the government for not fencing the area properly....the governemnt probably sees it easier to just shut the tracks completely and kick everyone out. |

QUOTE(HOON69 @ Aug 7 2006, 10:17 PM) if it aint their yard or property then whats it got to do with them anyways and when you got 4wd's and bikes whom have used this land since before houses were on it then some twit with money just moves in, builds then whinges later well thats BS imho its like building a house near a airport and then complaining of the noise. imho put up or shutup and unless its your land and your safety DIRECTLY involved then mind your business and leave these guys along. ffs a few hours a week of noise LOL you'd hear the MWY 24/7 and they put up with that dont they(residents) That has to be the worst, most skewed argument I have ever heard. As a property owner, I have rights. One of my rights is that I can peacefully enjoy my property. Using your argument, let's think of it this way. If I bought a house next door, or even just parked my car in front of your house, and played music as loud as I could all day and night, I'm sure you'd be mighty pissed. But according to you, you have absolutely no right to have a whinge to the police or media, because it ain't your yard or property. I think your missing the point here - this is private property they're riding on. That makes it trespassing. It doesn't matter whether it used to be free domain five years ago, it's owned by someone now, and they shouldn't be on it in the first place. I wouldn't be surprised if the owner ended up constructing fences around the whole property. As for the motorway - do you really think they "don't mind"? Haven't you noticed those large wooden barriers being constructed along the side of the motorway over the past few years? Why do you think they're there? Because residents complained about the noise. But further, have you ever lived near a motorway or airport? When you live directly near an area of constant noise, you get used to it. I used to live directly below the flightpath of a RAAF base which would have a range of aircraft regularly flying overhead include Hercules, US Starlifters and the US Galaxy. Not exactly quiet aircraft. However because it was so regular (for example, every day at 11:05am, a Herc would pass over), you get used to it. Intermittent sound, like dirtbikes, you don't get used to. Legally you have no rights on this issue, live with it. ROCK ON R~R |

The residents are complaining about people riding on a subdivision, yet to be developed. It's privately owned. They don't live next to the race track. That's not what they're complaining about. Remember they're not moving in on your territory, you never owned the land that you claim to be "your moto track". Ride your bikes somewhere else and the problem is solved. |

QUOTE(DR1F7 @ Aug 7 2006, 06:22 PM) I dont think I would like my house, clothes, car covered in dust. Would you? Pretty silly comment when you think about it. You are moving into a area that has a old quarry within throwing distance. What would you expect? Water? QUOTE(SkiDMaN @ Aug 7 2006, 06:50 PM) That sucks.. those tracks have been there way before the housing even got built from what i know... My dad lives very close to the track and has never had a problem. Seems like alot of bullshit to me! Those tracks have been there for fucking ages. Sick of these cockheads moving in and bitching about every lil bit they fucking can. QUOTE(*TiMy* @ Aug 7 2006, 06:52 PM) yes but all the dust is from the near by developments. from excavators lol. also they were there and left by 11am so that pic is in the arvo so its from a diff day . and the closest house is probably 1km away nearly as were the houses are closer to the moto x track dont complain. I think the nearest is a bit more then 1km. As everyone has said, it's the new developments that have caused all the dust and shit. I've been riding for years. Everytime we find a decent area to go riding shit like this happens. A group of ppl less then the size of a football team have a fucking whinge. Next thing you know you have the cops down there giving us all fines for minding our own business due to less then 0.01% of the local population having a whinge. Kinda ironic if you ask me. Same thing happened down where i use to live. Newport use to have a few ok bush tracks. Then the rick fucks move in and complain about the "noise and dust" and yet they don't bitch during the week when 100+ trucks roar up and down the same stretch with their loads of dirt, or when they cop 50x the amount of dust from their trucks compared to a 125 or 250cc motor bike. Use to be bad enough when we got haggled out of bridge to nowhere due to "industrial property owners" complaining about us riding out there. I mean there isn't even anyone there on the weekends to hear the noise but they still bitch about it. Talk about trying to kill the youth of today. Ffs, first ppl bitch about kids/teenages not getting outside, and when they do they try and spoil our fun. Get a fucking life old cARnts QUOTE(Rookie ROX @ Aug 9 2006, 10:47 AM) Finally! Is it possible to make the ability to read a prerequisite for this site? ROCK ON R~R Yes this may be true. i read the article as well so don't have a go at myself. But there have been articles in the past about the same thing with regards to the quarries. Just from my understanding of prior similar things, first they'll shut that down, then they'll try for the quarry. And the race track? who cares about the race track? it's like going to the ekka or dreamworld. Why would you stand in a line for a hour for 1minute of enjoyment? you wouldn't. Hence why ppl like myself go to bush/quarries/and yes i'll admit - undeveloped land. You can only see what you want. but if you were actually a rider like some of the other members on this site are you would know this story all too well by now. |
