Looking for recommendations for good computer tuners here in tamworth. Know anybody good? Specialising in Jap computers?

Colin Chapman ( founder of lotus ) once said: If you take every last washer out of your standard showroom car, you will have saved 6kg in excess weight. Build a race car to take the chequered flag, if it falls apart after the race, it doesn't matter, you still won and thats all that matters.

When the clutch drops, the bullshit stops.

Bathurst is the race of one nation and its family cars, Le mans is where records are broken and legends are made.

Yeah prefer to get someone based here in tamworth. My apprentice is chasing a computer tuner, thats who i'm asking for. Rather get somebody here so if they bugger the car or make the car run worse we can hunt them down easily to get problems rectified quickly.

Fair enough... I'd be interested to see who can tune an RB20 ECU around here. Yorky? smile.gif

He hasn't got all the gear in yet. It's a sr20det, hybrid cooler, GT28RS, rising rate fuel pressure regulator, HKS 3 inch Cat back exhaust with super dragger cannon, high mount manifold, Greddy plenum, type 2 BOV, sard injectors ( dunno what size ), GTR fuel pump, 45mm external wasgate, the power fc and I think he has a hand controller. He has most of the gear already, he just wants to get it all ready to minimise down time.

Road tune??? Why god why!!! Thats a real rough as guts way to do it. Only dodgey bastards do road tunes. Dyno or nothing. Yeah sudney or newcastle i reckon. JT auto gas in newcastle comes highly recommended.

road tunes are good nothing wrong with them, i take mine out every now and then for a road tune. its all about the man behind that computer.

Dyno is what you do if you want it done properly. I've heard nothing but bad reports of the road tunes done here in tamworth. Road tuning it yourself is an option I guess, that way if anything goes wrong you have knowone to blame but yourself LOL.

a power FC have a lot of fuel settings, every time we play with some thing we either need more fuel or take some out due to the knock level, my engine is only new and when it was first tuned it was running really fat due to the power output and save anything going wrong the fuel was really pumped in, so slowly we are taking out fuel, the more fuel i take out the more power i get, untill we get a sweet air/fuel mix and a safe knock level, when i run the car in sydney it needs to be tuned down there due to the change in pressure i seam to run lean down there and fat up here.

the cost of dyno all the time is too much, so we stick the airfuel meter up the back and take it for a good run.

Yeah being at sea level will do that, as opposed to being in tamworth. Humidity can be a issue. Seeing so much money has been spent on your skyline "HKS32R", I thought you wouldn't spare expense when it comes to tuning. A lot of $$$$$ to be left in the hands of your computer tuner, you must have great faith in who tunes your car.

My car made 310 rwkw in newcastle on the dyno.
When i was in Tamworth you could notice a decline in power.
Nothing wrong with road tunes if you dont have access to a good dyno.
The guy tuning his car knows whats doing so why query his tunes and who does em when it seems you know fuck all bout anything

As usual, MAXPSI comes back with a negative reply. Fuck all about anything??? I know enough to know using the dyno is better than doing a road tune. There is a dyno here in tamworth, just not alot of people around who know how to dyno tune cars properly. This is a thread asking about COMPUTER TUNING IN TAMWORTH, not in newcastle. Who is tuning the car anyway??? If his that great why dont you share the contact???

MAXPSI
Post #22

Look postman you appear to be the one asking all the questions about everything. The guy who has done some tuning on yorkys car lives in tamworth.
The tune on my car was done by rigolis which yeah he is a pretty good tuner so i dont mind sharing the contact.
I realise there isnt many tuners up there who know what there dong.
In some cases not all of them you do have to go outside the town you live in to have a job done properly.

Ok, a guy here in Tamworth tunes yorky's car, who is he??? Yeah rigoli does real great work, I think they still hold the record for Australias fastest road registered 4 cylinder car. The guy who tunes yorky's car, if he's doing a great job doing road tunes, why not get him and the car on the dyno? Probably be able to squeeze even more horses outta the GTR.

Trust me it doesnt need any more hp yorky struggles to hang on to it as it is lol.
If the yorkster wishes to say who tunes his car its up to him not me.

Power is only wasted if you can't get it to the ground, an 4WD skyline should be able to get most of it to the ground, no such thing as too much power if you are able to use most of it. Come on yorky, spill, who's tuning the car???

hmmm. He knows what he is doing???How come you got barnco to fit your new clutch and not matt??? Tell that to the poor coils that he has fried in donny's car. I heard of his reputation in newcastle, so I wouldn't let him near anything of mine. Oh well, anybody got any other suggestions for computer tuners???

colabolic
Post #32

Yeah poor old donnys car ever since mat touched hes car its has ran like shit and fried coils, so who is saying mat knows what he is doing ?? Road tuning cars is good to just touch up your tune but not to tune a new computer,And as far as mat obrien he is no good and u only have to ask anyone in newcastle!!!

I would say to anyone who wants there car done to go c J T auto gas in cardiff in newcastle he is the man really knows what he is doing

He helped my friend with hes gem running a FJ20 and it puts out over 600hp at the wheels
