Good, brass button clutches generally handle horsepower without slipping. They can be a bit savage (i.e. either on off), but yours has a sprung centre which means when you engage the clutch the springs soften the bite. 5 puck means the clutch has 5 (for the want of a better word) pads. The more pucks you've got (5 is alot), the more user friendly the clutch is, but if you've got too many for the size of your flywheel, the more likely it is to slip.

Hope that helps

It was sarcasm my friend - hence the ROFL above it.

A button clutch is just the name for it because of its design. It doesn't mean you have a button you press, nor does it remove the gear stick.

It will still be a manual, you will still have a clutch that you push in to change gears. It will simply have a different feel to a stock standard clutch and be usually be able to handle spirited driving and increased performance.

LOL, yes it will still have a gearstick. The name button clutch comes from the "on/off" nature of it, or at least that's what I assumed.

all lies. with a button clutch your HANDBRAKE button changes gears. hence the name button. people whinge about them because they are so easy to use

a brass button is just like any other normal clutch as far as how they are used... but they are a lot grippier and have little to no room to ride them or the fark up.. lol

the good thing about the button clutches is you can replace the buttons when they start to wear for like $20 each. that is what I am in the process of doing at the moment .. a lil bit of fly wheel machining and booyah tongue.gif

near new clutch tongue.gif all for approx $200

how much power are you making? a'button' type clutch isnt really nessary unless your making at least 300whp. a good single plate would be just as good with better driveablity.

Laughing Out Loud at the "mockery" of the n00bness - I think Toxin's reply takes the cake tho.

For your starlet an Exeedy Heavy Duty Organic (single plate) clutch is more then adeqaute and it will only set you back ~$650 to buy new + install cost (~$70-$100 mabye)
