WTF so its not paid by the hour? Lol... .no.. id suggest looking at something else. perhaps you could bargain with an owner of a taxi to pay you by the hour..... but no work = no pay... so you would be hard pressed to find someone wanting to hire someone NEW... for an hourly rate some shit drivers who sit at a rank or just get hails.... might do (after tax/gas etc) $300-$600 a week some decent drivers who work the computer, know whats going on... and where.... .. perhaps scam some gold coast / contract (blood bank, hospital stuff) can make $600-$1200 a week experienced and really switched on drivers can make $800-$3000 no worries you get paid for the work you do.... so its incentive to realllly get into it.... opportunity is there to earn big dollars if you want it.... not bad for sitting on your ass listening to tunes and drunken conversations with only a minor chance of stabbings |

As mentioned before, each individual taxi is a franchise for black and white/yellow cabs ect. Costs hundreds of thousands for a taxi license, so some people own one and some rich bastards own many. So it really depends how the owner runs his franchise. |

So it really depends how the owner runs his franchise. My uncle drove cabs around north Brisbane on saturdays for extra cash and he would only earn on average $14 an hour for his 12 hour shift. So it wouldn't be worth it for some of the shit you have to deal with. These days we simply can't compete with the amount of foreign cab drivers. They're willing to work for next to nothing and usually shut most genuine Australians out of the job. They're fuckin' crazy, there was one cabbie who refused to let anyone put their luggage in the boot of his cab. Eventually the cab was searched and it turns out another driver was sleeping in the boot of the cab and they'd trade places every few hours in order to run the cab 24 hours a day. Fuck that. LOL |
