Currently have twin turbo supra am looking at getting to 600hp, what would be better for track racing.

Thinking of either of these turbos atm;

HKS GT2835 ball-bearing twin-turbo

or

GT35R Single Turbo

any advice here would be great to get extra performance out of this car for racing.

Current Mods;
HKS EVC & Hand Controller, HKS Full Height/Camber/Damper Adjustable Suspension kit, HKS Custom Front Mount Intercooler & Piping, Custom Stainless Steel Radiator, TRUST Twin Pod Filters, CUSCO Strut Bar, Braided Oil Lines, HKS Full Titanium Exhaust Kit, HKS F-Con SZ ECU, TRUST Short Shift Kit & Gear stick, EXEDY Twin Plate Clutch, APEXi Turbo Timer, Greddy Boost,

if your on a budget go the single. cheap and relatively easy.

if u have an extended credit card limit. go the twins. there are some excellent examples of circuit kings in japan of tt supra setups.

HKS GT2835's aren't all that cheap. Maybe go twin Trust TD06-20G's or just stick with the GT35R single.

And definately upgrade your fuel system if you haven't already.

Limited knowledge on fuel system, what are the parts that I need to get to upgrade the fuel system, and do you have any recommendations on where to get them from?

If i go the twins over the single, this will reduce the lag whilst still giving me plenty of hp?
Edit: Budget $10k

Go see Carlos at Millenium Motorsport (07) 3348 2755. The guy is a 2J fan and has worked on some massive hp ones, including his own. He knows all the insides and outs of them, and will have a better opinion about turbo sizing than most people from his years of experience working on them. Plus he can stear you in the right direction for fuel system, and look after all of that side for you.

If you speak to him, tell him Brad who owns the black Chaser referred you. He will talk your ears off with his knowledge, but he knows his stuff and loves it.

call brad at Boosted Extremes he sponsors the QLD supra club and has done this conversion may times and he would be a shitload cheaper than Millennium. Also I agree that you will need a fuel system upgrade.
There are guys on supraforums that have had dramas with the people at millennium.

get at least 2JZGTE SARD 750CC injectors and a suited bosh or walbro fuel pump (225lph x2). You can get these from nearly any car parts website.

GT35R Single Turbo

u do know both those setups are no where near each other

a GT2835 aka GT3071 is rated at 500hp
so if u have 2 of them hanging of ur engine its like having a 1000hp turbo

a GT35R is rated at 700hp

as u can see they are no where near each other

Go single...Twins won't make it less laggy... Like many have said, its cheaper. Not only that its easier to work on when you've only got 1 turbo, 1 dump pipe, 1 cooler pipe etc as well as more room in engine bay...

Fuel system you will definitely need big injectors (800-1000cc), go twin bosch 044 fuel pumps, fuel pressure reg etc.

GT35R is just about perfectly sized for a 3L engine. Maybe a better comparison would be the 35R and a T04Z...

i would say a T04z would be beter for a 3L

GT35R would be suited for around 2.5L

i 1st bought a T04z for my GTR but ended up selling it for a GT35R for more response

the size of the exhaust housing also plays a big roll when it comes to how responsive the turbo is
my GT35r has a custom garrett machined exhaust housing taken from another turbo
.78 DIVIDED (twin scroll) so its very small for a 2.6L RB26 engine but im not aiming for top end
im aiming for response because i dont wanna rev my engine to hard because im still running a standard bottom end

Actually STR8E180's post above is very true. Lots of Soarer owners stick GT35R's on their 1J's easy 11 second car with supporting mods. Plenty of Supra owners go with the T04Z, been done many times too, so it is obviously a good combo. I guess you should speak to people on the mentioned Supra forums for advice on exhaust housing size. All comes down to what you are after, response or top end. Personally I don't like laggy turbos. I have a T04E on my CA18 haha doesn't have much til 4000-4500rpm.

I also have a single HKS GT2835R Pro on my 1J in my JZX100. The front housing has been machined and high flowed though, so it's probably almost at powerful as a 3037, the next size up from HKS which is based on the Garrett GT3076 or close to. Mine is very responsive and gives me close to 350rwhp on 17psi, pretty good through an auto box.
