Nice Gtr mate, sure its a 2011? i bought a 11' and the rear bar and rear spats are the same as the new ones with the carbon center at the bottom and vents on either side of the rear wheels, also unless a black model those seats are only 08-10 models with the red so looks like a 11' onwards front bars been used. Anyways love the Gtr's and nice colour.

Hmmm...comment on the above? Guy seems to know his stuff.

Anyway, not my thing, but can't argue with the performance of a GTR. Will smash anything on the Australian road, any time, every time...
Don't think they're ageing as well as I'd thought the would though. They badly need a big visual update.

Your only upset because even a stock one walks away from a v10 r8 tongue.gif

They were never that visually crazy, but its hard to argue with the performance numbers

Does it matter? I could have a 458 and it would still smash it. It's an R35. It does one thing. Win.

I totally agree with the comments above, when i bought mine i was tossing up between a new exile s or gallardo/r8/f430 used of course, as i agree the gtr isn't the greatest looking car especially those chasing a chick magnet car lol (as my wife likes the euro stuff) but i think its a badass car and has that presence/power about it when seeing one in person as photos don't do these cars any favours.

Haha im only messing. I actually really like the r8.

    wolfman101
    Post #11

Yeah, I thought about it. Could easily have bought a new one for what I paid for the R8, but at the end of the day I wanted more out of the car than raw numbers. There needs to be a balance between a lot of factors. If all I wanted was to win every time I went to the track, I'd have gotten one for sure.

    EDIT:

that, or an Exige S, heavily worked maybe.

    agt09
    Post #12

yeah my wife loves the r8, we're just in the process of painting the skirts/front/rear and wheels done in matte black (car is gloss) candy apple red callipers with spacers and h&R springs. will be posting pics soon.

    I like the R8.. I just think Wolfman101 is a t0sser smile.gif

PS - I buy and modify my cars to please *me*. I post on here when I am bored, not to impress the kids and get my feet kissed, unlike some.

What advantages does this motor car have over, say, a train -- which I could also afford?

I don't know WTF from a bar of soap but he doesn't seem to strike me as he is arrogant about his cars or wealth?

Yet old Woolfie he might be completely different IRL and doesn't realize it ( I believe this is most likely the case) but he comes off like a arrogant rich bitch sometimes.
I mean there is only so many times you can bag out the leather steering wheel of every single car expect for the ones you've owned.

Yes we all know you have an R8 that's awesome but for gods sake just let people enjoy their own cars for once in your life. We don't all have the same tastes or reasons for buying the cars we do. Stop comparing every single car to your own or your own opinions about the car. Some times a "Nice ride good luck with it" is all you need to say wink.gif

I'm not trying to have a dig as I reckon he is probably a tops bloke, sometimes things typed on a keyboard can send the wrong message or come across the wrong way.

Quiet down and kiss my feet.

    But seriously,
As I said in the other thread-I give props when I like something, and bag something when I don't. I think that's fairly natural. Check out the current RX-7 thread for an example of the former.
If I seem to express a lot of negative opinions about cars...well, those who have been around long enough, try to recall all the flack I'VE received over the years for the cars that I but no one else liked.

    EDIT:
I feel that a little more context/explanation is justified, as I do see how my comment may have come off as arrogant-it wasn't my intention.
You'll notice that I actually never ONCE bagged the GTR. I think it's an awesome machine, and by far the best vehicle WTF has owned that I know of.
The comment that people seem to have taken issue with was in direct response to people (somewhat facetiously) suggesting that I was jealous of it. I'm not, and explained my reasoning.
    The end.

Look, at the end of the day, there are really only maybe 3 people left on Boost whose opinions I give a damn about. They seem to tolerate me, so I'm fine with that.
Come over, talk to me at a meet (I'm at many) and THEN make a decision about whether or not you like me. Or if you can't be bothered doing that, ask one of the many Boost members who have.

My FIRST POST in this thread expressed my respect for the car. Read.

OK lads can we roll this back to a conversation about the car?? instead of bagging out on each other! (before i delete everyones comments smile.gif )
Wolfman did say he has respect for the car!

Props to WTF for building a nice car and 800hp is nothing to sneeze at.

Arguable even if i had the money i wouldn't buy one of these, sure they go like a rocket and handle like their glued to the road but everyone has one.. its the same reason i'd never buy a ferrari or an R8 or any kind of Lambo (there's a lambo mechanic across the road from the office.. brisbane has a lot of Lambos).
Either way you've got to give respect to the car!

Most credit for the car should go to previous owner, a lot of the work was already done for me smile.gif

For the record, I don't mind if people dislike the car, or me for that matter tongue.gif

I don't feel that my, or anyone else's opinion should be held in any higher regard just due to the car they drive.

Having had the resources to purchase an expensive car does not give people the right to swing their ego around, and it is that attitude that unfortunately is synonymous with ownership of high end cars.

I typically bite my tongue, but it's no secret that I dislike Wolfman's online attitude. His online persona comes across as extremely elitist, and seemingly looking to have the less fortunate kids stroke his ego. The majority of those that follow boostcruising are not at stages in their life where cars exceeding 6 figures in value are a likely possibility, and those that can may have no desire to spend that kind of money either. I don't feel that it is at all necessary to reference one's spending capacity (such as feeling the need to make sure boostcruising knew he paid cash for his R8). His posts constantly come across as if he feels his opinion should be highly regarded due to his resources obviously being higher than the average in this community of predominantly sub $30k vehicles.

There are always bigger fish out there, and most of the guys I know have resources that FAR outweigh mine, yet none of them carry an attitude, that; Wolfman, is why you've not been invited on the private runs.

Another pic, just to get back on topic.

your pic again highlights to me that there are way to many Lambos in this city!

    WTF,

while we are having personal digs,

which I suppose will quickly guarantee that our posts get deleted,

the reason I quickly gave up caring about not being allowed into the Cool Kids Club was the very same reason.

I found the majority to be elitest douches who seem to do little but drive other people's cars and go hang out at fashionable cafes and restaurants.

I'd rather track my cars twice monthly and hang out with actual people.
Interesting how people's views of the same situation can vary so much depending on their perspective.

I'll add here that I haven't really had much to do with YOU specifically IRL, so I have no idea if I like you or not.

Um wow!!! relax guys its the intrawebs dunno.gif Seriously though, i didn't see Wolfman "bag" the GTR but yet some have said he did huh.gif yes his opinions thoughts on other cars is questionable but really who gives a rats, Judging people by how they are on the net is a joke, how can you judge someone just by how they type etc, a lot of things can come across wrong via text I have butted heads with Wolfman on a number of occassions when it come to cars etc, i love my old school, he likes his top ends... but in the end its personal taste... DEAL WITH IT!!!

OT: I do respect the power of these things, but not my style... (inb4you'rejustjealous)

    wolfman101
    Post #33

And there goes one of those aforementioned few voices on Boost that, surprisingly, I have come to respect.

    WTF
    Post #34

Being honest, the GTR is an ugly brute of a car, I never really even liked the look of them. I got it for the power, and it was basically an impulse buy when this one popped up for sale in the colour scheme with the wheels I liked. Most day's commuting to work, I regret not getting the Gallardo, since the power is useless in traffic anyway, and, well, I am a poser wink.gif

Really a Gallardo??? then you'd look like every other guy with money in brisbane!
surely there's a more original less popular supercar that you guys could buy?
