Less than a regular NA commodore

You took the supercharger off a car that was factory supercharged??? Kinda stupid, bet it runs like a pig now, being lower compression and entirely different tune and all.

wasnt to sure if a p plater can drive these with the standard superchargers, just keeping my licence lol, its only off till feb next year then its going back on, and nah still runs pretty well for a car that has lost a lil bit of compression, but ay its just a daily car smile.gif cheers for the comment smile.gif

You'll have more fun in the super6 beating V8's.

Sad part is in Queensland you probably would of gotten an exemption. What a waste of a car though.

don't waste your time with a gas guzzling slug 5ltr engine which will cost you more in fuel an rego to run just to be flogged by a supercharged 6 which costs less in fuel an rego.

If your going to do an engine conversion go ls series, tune and exhaust will make as much if not more power than a sc 5lt and use half the fuel

Good if you got deep pockets but an LS conversion is not as simple as throw another motor in done.

A warm 5L with blower and decent tune will destroy most tuned up LS engines on the street day to day. And if the blower is 2nd hand will cost a fuckload less to begin with.
Would be flogging that LS1 for ages before you make the difference.

But if you want upwards of 500rwhp in the future do not go for a 304. It rarely happens for under 25k.

we pulled from a vk with supercharged 304 a handful of times at powercruise in my mates tuned, geared vx ss. most bolt on sc kits for the 5L only make +-300rwhp. If your going to all that trouble to do an engine conversion, why would you settle for a 5L when the vt series 2 already came out with a ls1, have alot more headroom to make power, better on fuel, reliiable seams like a win in everyway.

VT Series 2 LS motors are pieces of crap. Just saying.

Except for as Wraith stated, the initial cost of conversion. 300rwhp in a light VK would be prety quick id imagine.

the 5ltr boys don't like getting beaten by a v6 at all, even better when it can also beat the xr6t which flogs most 8's.
