Hey guys.

I'm in the market for a ecu that will suit my soon to be 450hp+ hilux

Just wanting to know mostly if anyone has had ne trouble with an adaptronic e420c? Not sure if this is the latest model out?

the haltech ps1000 will be from the usa for 1475 , its 2000+ here in Australia sad.gif but if something goes wrong Australian haltech wont help me cos i would of bought it from the usa

My vehicle is in at EFI right now getting an E420C fitted.

I've heard nothing but good reports about both the guys there and also the ECU itself.

Also, the after-sales support from Adaptronic themselves has been great as well (Needed new firmware)

Personally, I'd go with what you can get the best support for - in both a tuner, and also from the manufacturer

Look at a Motec, apparently they do good exhausts also.

But on a serious note, do you have someone in mind to do the tuning for you, or will that depend on which ecu that you purchase also?

Ask your chosen tuner what they prefer to use.

reason?

I looked at microtech LT-10 but alot of people (10+) said theirs no help on them, like the company doesn't answer there phones...

I dont know what tuner im using, im in cleveland/alex hills area. Have heard SO MANY horror stories. And ive been watching the vids of skyline, supras, subies etc blowing up on the dyno and thats freaked me out. They take no responsibility for anything that happens.

I would be like

if anything happened

and he would be like

450hp 3r?? Say good bye to 10k mate (provided you are building a reliable motor)
I am surprised no-one has suggested an Autronic. You will pay good money for one, but it will be the best money you've ever spent.

Having that said tho, a mate of mine has just turbo'd his 3r and is running a haltec (unsure on model) and he is wrapped with it. Does everything he wanted and was relatively cheap to buy and tune.

Rotary Motorsport and STZ have both tuned 3r's with good results...

Not alot of experianced tuners here for links.

On a side note its so easy for shops these days to say they can tune anything

I go to Motsons with mine very happy and I know Mark is very experienced with link but I know

Mercury
Godzilla (Not sure if he still does since he now sells ViPEC)
Matt Spry aka PITS
EFI (I think)

All tune Link ECU's with good results PITS did an awesome tune on a mates car with a link

Anywhere that tunes Vipec should be able to tune link as they are effectively the same ECU just slightly different software...

u will have dramas with the others, go vipec and see mark at godzilla motorsports, hes very good and gets results not just promises.. thumbsup.gif
if u wont a bit cheaper and still work, go microtech as a option, depends on your budget really, mazfix has done alot of 3rz turbo conversions there and tuning too, get results also..
or the new haltechs look great also..have alot of functions, easy to tune...cheers

matty spry's not a wanker. In my opinion he's just very up front. doesnt put up with any bullshit/unrealistic requests and tells you you're an idiot if you make such requests.

But in regards to tuning he is a wizard. Fuckin knows his shit, and if it's something he can't do, he;ll tell you.

First 30 seconds I spoke to him he pretty much said to me hey guy im a wanker

Never have I met a complete and utter fuckwit in my life appart from a few other morons
back in the car game years ago when I lived down south.
