Also the car infront isnt always in the right, just remember that one. If you were doing a Uturn you must giveway. Now if she was speeding however its a different story.

no, even though the road is wide i was going into a driveway because there was traffic comming from the other direction and i wouldnt have had time to hit reverse.

i was in the right, this chick came along this road doing well over 100 and i guess she thought she could take me before i turned.

After my experience call them anyway, unless you settle it on the spot. Makes life easier down the track.

nah the rule is $2500!



but when my mate had an acco he rang the cops as there was about $6000 damage all up, and the cops just said, take care of it yourself...

$2500 and or any personal injuries. And the injury bit is why you should get on to the cops. Trust me on that one, any doubt get on to them.

Sorry 2 hear ash - Another starion harmed sad.gif. Not good. Some ppl cant drive for shite - i always am looking out for what the pther person is going to do at traffic lights, turns etc. - the other day i was in a turning lane on a narrow 1 lane street - this wanker came flying down the street and only sees me and locks up the brake - cos i was lookin in my rear view mirror - i had time 2 react - jumped off the clutch and onto the other side (middle) of the road- this guy just missed clipping me - i was so fuckin pissed off - me and my mate reversed and CAinned after him - he was drivin a cressida and he gave that shit to try get away = we followed him and at the lights he had to stop and we abused the fuck outta him - he was shaking lol. ANyway - the point is -look out for the other driver - cos most of the time they are the ones 2 cause the accident. Also - ppl saying it aint worth calling the cops if under 2500 grand of damage - did u get ur front bumper hit ash? Cos them things retail at 1600 dollars from Mitsubishi ALone!

there is a damage limit, mostly to stop the cops being wasted on little benders where 2 bumpers just touch. if you want the police there, just tell them you cannot come to an agreement and the other person is getting aggitated and you fear he / she might get violent.

then they have to come out.

Always call the cops regardless. Might take em a while to attend, but they'll be there. That's also the easy way to get a tow truck...if one's needed. Like fuckin vultures they are.



However, I always thought the limit was 5 grand.



atomic: If she didn't give way, it's her ass. Was it a young/older female? What kind of car? Was the passanger of similar age?



Another thing....small claims courts. Free legal advise from Centrelink (they can hook you up). I suggest you at least try it. Good luck.

I think if she was doing over 100 you would have been pushed well out of your little drawing thingy. Still, sucks to crash a car i know the feeling well, and since when do you call the cops at the scene of an accident? that is just asking for trouble. come on, when do they ever favour the young fella in the turbo car? get the hell out of there as quickly as possible!

are you insured cause if you are let your insurance take care of it they will take em to court if neccesary!!!. and if she aint insured your insurance company will have a thing where they just pay for it and the person at fault will have to pay your insurance company back. eg $100 a month.

blown13b: we are both with racq and from what i have been told the insurance company wants to make money(obviously) and since it is word against word the person with the bigger excess will lose(hence they make money)



and i doubt she has a 2k excess.



hoon: she claims i turned into her while she overtook me at the speed limit.. the driver was female about 22 mabye to 27.. the passangere was of a similar age however the police said that the passangers statements dont mean much because they are friends.



it's been two weeks, and she has not sent me a letter of demand for repairs, i think she's just going to hope we forget it.

Dont bet on it, we had the same deal. Just be prepared for it, if nothing come of it then well you got some money saved up.
