Engine: 4.0L Inline EFI 6 cyl (245cui)

Exhaust: Standard exhaust manifold, cat and exhaust :-( can hear it struggling...

Suspension: King lowered springs, Monroe GT Gas shock absorbers, P.U. bushes.

Wheels: ANZ Mayhem, 18x8. 235 Maxxis directional sports tyres. Not wide enough at the back, apparently...

Modifications:
5 speed conversion -
Rebuilt T5 box, custom short shifter with solid bushes.
Exedy HD clutch kit, machined flywheel.
Mid-range camshaft
Tickford engine with reco head, decked to square with higher compression

Stereo Audio / Visual: Pioneer HU, stock speakers. Not a priority, guys.

Estimated Power: enough to be plenty of fun in the dry, and hopeless in 1st/2nd/3rd gear in the wet.

Pretty basic machine, guys. Its a 1996 Gli (base model) falcon that has had a lot of love poured into it over the years. Im no p-plater, so you wont find any pod filters, monza pedals or cannon exhausts here. Its simply been fixed when it needed it, with upgraded parts. Uncommon to find an EF this well looked after.
.
Over the last couple of years has copped brand new pwr steer pump and rack, alternator, etc etc.
New engine about 3 months ago, as well as the 5 speed conversion. Really wakes it up, highly recommended.
Not sure what else to say... only things i havent done that i would probably look at in the future are an LSD, fatter swaybars, extractors and exhaust system, and a CAI setup with better flowing filtration. Makes great power at any RPM but dies off a little in the higher revs as the poor bastard just cant breathe. Ive replaced things over the years as they needed it, and those bits simply havent required attention yet. Window tint probably wouldnt go astray either.
Easily takes down 5L V8s, and standard/mild turbo skylines. 4.0L with the right setup is no slouch. Has been a good interim car while building my 73 XB Falcon 500 (351, toploader, 9" etc) but is for sale as the XB is about done.
Number plates stand for NOSALE, btw. not NOS 413 as some people tend to hope...

    Wheels are ugly.
Also guaging a cars power by bragging about what it beats on the street makes you look like a bit of a tool.

Yeah my apexigreddyomguleh N13 beats boosted rb's and rotors all day

What cam are you running ?

I like the colour, hate the wheels. I love the sound of a decent ford 4L when the exhaust is done rite. If i had the money i'd be all over it like a beaver on wood. Good luck with it.

these in stock form with AUTO boxes are suprisingly powerful. I was abit shocked driving my mates in the wet one night. I'd defs consider one as a drift pig over an r31.

Well how else would you have one give an example of the power a car puts down without a dyno chart? "it's fast".
And I'm not a huge fan of the wheels either but yet were free and had great tyres. They look ok I guess but are bloody heavy.

Haha the car is what it is, and does what it does. If my description of it upsets people and hurts their feelings or whatever, I'm not going to be bothered by it...
    Cheers for the feedback dudes!

Amusing...because I promise you that you trying to take on v8's with it, they would be just shaking there head and laughing lol. If they actually tried even in the slightest...you'd be eating their dust.

If he has what he says he has I beleive him beating stock 5l 8s and stock/mild turboed cars. I don't know why more people don't buy and mod these things 180rwkw can be attained N/A with very aggressive cams, shaved head, P&P, exhaust manifold etc. Don't expect it to be that streetable thats for sure. Mine idled like a MotherF***er though but everything else was awesome. Was heaps of fun in the Auto and mine was also a ute so I never had traction (my experience)

ps - I'm not a fan of the rims either, Simmons look epic on these though.

Yeah was pretty sad in the 90s. The 4l fords were faster than the 5l Windsor v8s. And with a few light mods were pretty decent motors.
Ive had some fast cars - 5l v8s and single/twin turbo rb powered nissans, and toyotas. I can post them in this forum too if you like. I am simply comparing it to other cars I've driven. I'm
Not 17 like some of you lot seem to be :-)
And tricky, v8s aren't the all that younseemnto think they are. They are a good base, but still need decent cash spent on them to get them really moving.

mmm doubt you would be beating turbo'd skylines in this....

Not a fan of the wheels but hey its your car not mine.

IF your NA straight 6 can chop 5l v8s ... they aren't trying bud.

Though having said that, the 4L straight 6 does make good power. Very nice car mate, I would give up the dream of being a drag strip king though tongue.gif unless you plan to drop an aspirated 6 or 8 in there.

The man speaks the truth, Stock EF-EL Tickford XR6 was faster/handled better than EL XR8 and would easily out run a VN to maybe 1997 SS Commo. Just like the BA-FG Xr6 Turbos Vs. (Model Equivelent) Stock XR8/SS are faster and handles better as lower weight over the front.

    I've seen a 3.5L Magna chomp a VX SS.

El/F actually don't go too bad, especially with a few mild mods. Especially in manual form, the auto has stupidly long gears. Good for doing 1st gear burnouts, not so good for speed.

Nice work mate, I can see the work you've put in.
