I actually REALLY don't like how the inlet to that airbox is setup on leannes car.
I was going to comment to the mechanic dude but he was being very rude (would you not agree talyz? or was that just my hungover perception?)

Perhaps you recognise this car. Perhaps you're thinking this is a Holden, not a Mazda! But in 1975, Mazda released this Holden sourced sedan fitted with Mazda's Type 13B rotary engine. The introduction of this model provided Mazda with a large luxurious sedan for the Japanese domestic market, without the high investment cost of an all-new all-Mazda design and it saved years in model development time. You may have noticed that the Mazda is a HJ series Holden Premier. The Roadpacer AP appeared in March 1975 and stayed around for 2 years, a somewhat limited period in automotive model-life time

it was a sluggish heap of crap as it only came out in auto i think, and the box always shifted befor the rotory came into power band.
hence y it was dubed the toad racer in aust

they got the HJ body by doin a trade with GM, mazda go the body and GM got a rotor. i do believe one USA made car came out with a 20b, either that or it was just put in a race car. i could be wrong on that one though, im just runnin of what i remember from a mag artical bout a year ago

ps they were also released in australia.

Close, but not quite. It has actually been beaten in a round in either NSW or Victoria - and not just because of a mechanical failure. I'm not too sure of the 3 hoses feeding from the CAI to the airbox - I would have throught that a one piece tray and lid would work better but meh - it goes and it goes hard. It's certainly given me some ideas for my soon to be developed CAI...

and as for Wankel - well, my 'rolla sounds like a rotary at 1500rpm... is that close enough?
