You do know that the first production car with a turbo was a old American v8 right? On topic, Some one in a old HPI magazine put a 1uzfe in a supra and was saying that it went together so easy (lots of the plugs where the same etc). He thought that Toyota was thinking of releasing a 1uzfe Supra. Yeah it seems more and more a hand in glove conversion Yeah a V8 might have been the first with a Turbo. Blowers were being used first and are in keeping with the theme as such |

sounds like a fun project!! the good thing these days is the amount of aftermarket bits and pieces that can be had at a 'reasonable' price. Plus the fact the work and research around manual swaps has been tried and tested. have you had a read of the Zoom magazine a few years back with the LS1 supra?? I have a V8 180sx project and weighted up the 1UZ vs LS1 and came to the conclusion that the LS1 was the far superior option for aftermarket support which equates to lower prices for performance parts. Off the shelf heads, stroker kits, 1000's of cams etc. There is also a multitude of s/c kits to choose from for the LS if you wanted to boost the power. I don't think there is a conversion kit available but it has been done before and information would be available with some searching or emails. |
