The 6 cylinder heeps, are thirsty well what 4x4 petrol isnt

Keep looking for a good example GQ patrol or 80 series cruiser

These are the best for a reason

thing is that all the cruisers seem to be rust buckets and the patrols are overpriced for what you get , meaning that most have had a hard life and have 3 to 400000 km on them . the Jeep has had a fully reco motor that is only 24000 km old , all the service records , body is spot on and even has leather seats etc and he wants $5700 for it . so it seems like a lot of car for the price IMO , so why dont people like them ?

The last GQ was 1997 , so thats what 14 years @ the average 15-20 K a year , so thats the average Ks
Then as you go back as far as 1988, thatll push the overall Ks out the window
To find anything 1996-1997 ish in either the cruiser or patrol youll pay mid teens,especially if the cars overall condition is reflected in the low Ks
People stick with the main two players as they have good demand and better resale than any other

Keep looking ,something will pop up, but youll be looking for a while,some wait over 6 months or more for a goodie

thought I was on a winner with the Jeep , till I took it for a long drive and on the way back the diff started to make bad noises . No Sale

well I found a 1983 60 series wagon one owner with no rust with just over 200,000 km on the clock , new radiator , new clutch , new 31's , 8 months rego for $3000 with a trailer load of spares , happy as
