If you are down here for a fishing holiday definitely go to Flinders for off shore fishing. Also you have to try Bicheno. It's about 10 km till you're off the continental shelf and then it get's wild!

Without a doubt the best phone available. As good to use as the iphone, but does far, far more besides, has a significantly larger, better screen, is both lighter and thinner, and yet somehow manages to be far more powerful as well. I am well and truly LOVING being free of the iecosystem-can't recommend this thing enough.

Ended up going more nuts than i posted here on Karmaloop with clothes, ended up with three more pairs of jeans... jeans are something that's very hard to get right.. a fine line between epic jeans and failure, so i am pleased to say my sight and try on free purchase was a total success ! all three pairs fit epic and are amazing stoked !

Yeah i havent given the TLD too much hassle yet with a big sized fish, well i have just havent got one in the boat with it yet. Doh!

A 34 footer, damn! that would be awesome. I usually go out in my mates 19 foot half cabin. We usually head just off shore from the spit(this has now proven to be pointless, no fish) or up at Caloundra/Mooloolaba. Also had a good weekend just gone at Harry's. Reason i asked about the banks is we were very keen to get out there after seeing some of the fish a mate of mine from work has caught there.(e.g. close to 40lb snapper ect) But reading your post makes me VERY wary about trying it now in our boat haha. But in saying that, its something we were only ever going to try in a group with multiple boats of at least equal or bigger size than ours, and perfect predicted conditions.
barwon banks is great. you'd be fine in a 19footer. we head out there in a 18ft. just be careful and competent.

you can get big fish a lot closer than that though mate. i often wonder why people bother going that far out for a feed.

xxxx, what boat have you got mate. thats a decent size rig.

OT. i just bought myself a new estuary rod. pfleuger trion 2-4kg. got some lures, plastics jig heads and some flurocarbon aswell.

new ceiling fan for the bedroom,
new doona as the old one was falling apart,
hopefully enough dynamat to do the floor/firewall of the van
and a Crane Powermax 276 hydraulic cam for some mildly lumpy goodness

edit..... definitely enough dynamat to do the van

I had the same concerns as you but spoke to a broker friend of mine who said that 'name' flybridge sales were still surprisingly strong although whether he was pissing in my pocket remains to be seen! The one thing in my favour is that the 34's have always been an extremely popular boat, seems to be an ideal compromise between size and affordability.

I just want something that little bit bigger, 34' is fine for a family of 5 to weekend on but anything longer is a bit of a trial. Ideally I'd like to keep it just as a fishing rig but sadly finances won't accommodate both the Riv and a new boat :P

No worries, let me know how you go. If you ever decide to give the BB's a shot, with a bit of warning I could take a run out there with you, dependent on the weather of course.
Im going to hazard a guess that with your line of work, and a family that you would be far busier than me and my mate. :P If you ever head out there again and feel like letting us tag along then let me know, we are always keen. But either way, if we get something going, ill shoot you a PM.

No one we know likes to give out there good fishing spots, so we are kinda just going blind when we do head out in that area. Following other fishing boats ect will only get us so far, and rarely works. <_<

You go to the banks to eh? Do i smell a boost banks trip coming on? haha.
