Hi everybody! *Dr Nick impersonation* Ok, I have gone the first step and bought a '97 S14 200SX. Now, I am looking for suggestions as to what mods....mild to wild, that I can do to it. Any suggestions would be appreciated and rough cost estimates, so I can work out how long I have to go without food to afford to buy these things Keep in mind, I'm not into over-stated body kits or graphics etc. Thanks. -------------------- Me:- Sorry officer, but my foot slipped off the clutch
Officer:- But son, you were sideways for half the street. Did your foot slip off the clutch onto the accelerator?? Me:- No, the throttle stuck open. I had to get it straight before I killed the motor. Officer:- I'm not sure I believe you for some reason. Me:- Oh and there was a patch of oil on the road too. Did you see that? Officer:- No I didn't. Me:- Come on, does it look like this car could do that on purpose? |

yeah, I had same problem with insurance. Have a number of quotes from different companies and it came down to RACQ with minor mods ieno lower than 1.5 inches, no frount intercooler, exhaust max 2.5inch (and if I change the exhaust, then that is the only mod I can make), no BOV, no Boost controller. Basically can't do anything. All for 1300/yr. |

dude I reckon u should definately go the exhaust/filter 1st, as Mattson suggested, but have a think about installing a Microtech unit or something instead of just a chip remap, with Microtech u don't need an air flow meter (these are tiny & restrictive on sr20 motors) 7 many places are now offering deals with Microtech installed & tuned for around $1400-$1500 bucks now...after that????? well u should get a front mount intercooler straight away b4 bigger turbo, injectors etc.... |
