I'm happy to see the deadshits wipe themselves out on power poles when they are in the car alone, but it generally happens when they have friends in the car, or they hit another innocent person in another car. Haha agreed, Thats why i think tha passenger law is a must.. But there is a time and place |

This law is really stupid. Yes they care about saftey for young drivers, everybody understands that I myself am a p plater for another 11 months sadly ![]() First and foremost, the V35 skyline isn't P-plate legal as it's quoted at 206kw from factory. You raise an interesting point about the power. But I can tell you an r32 with basic mods will put an N/A xr6 to bed. Also, the propensity for power in a turbocharged rb20 is a lot higher than modding an N/A xr6. My R32 makes over 230rwkw. Considering it's much smaller and lighter than the XR6, I don't see how the falcon is possibly faster? Come at me bro. |

Well p platers drive them sooooooooooooooooooooooo... ba xr6 manual or any newer models would seriously beat a stock rb20det.. They are gutless ihave a r31 with a rb20det and a mate has a 32 rb20det.. Also my other mate had a manual ba xr6 before he got a s15 silvia but the xr6 would of beaten the rb20 |

I've driven an N/A XR6 manual on more than one occasion. Went well for what it was but couldn't hold a candle to my R32 now. The point is, it's a lot harder to squeeze power out of an N/A engine (without needing a mod plate, as that's also against the law for P-Platers) than it is a turbo engine. Also, you need to take into account that BA/BF XR6's are a much newer car, with upgraded saftey features that the R32 didn't have. |

You'll struggle to do a low 15 in a SV6/XR6. |

Shadow Of A Doubt
Post #393
Defecting a trailed car = Plain wrong. And, as was said, for a car to be defected, it needs to be on public road, under it's own power.. Or something like that. Someone should clear that up. As for the driver training, it should be done. It's been proven to work. I know how hard it is to get just 100 hours, let alone 200. You might go, oh yeah, "I drive 100 hours in a month" But, parents work. Kids learning go to school/work. Parents aren't around, they are at work, kid catches public transport. = no hours. In my case, I didn't even learn in school. After school, it's still, just as hard. I worked, sure, I could have driven with my rents to the bus, but they were always in a rush, and there wasn't the time for swapping and parking, in rush hour. And, Me, with no experience, in rush hour? No parent would let their kid drive in that either. I think, that the schools (as in public high schools) should have a driving course. If all the kids, get their L's through school/start to learn in school, then the teachers for the classes would be using a government curriculum, and be professional drivers. They would be taught, how to use their fucking blinkers at a round about CORRECTLY. They would be taught how to shoulder check. They would be taught to KEEP FUCKING LEFT. Because, they would be taught, all on the same government curriculum. (just like any other class in school) And, it would be part of school education. How easy is that? Garenteed experience. It can't be made up, it's not forged. Two classes a week, and that's more then 50 hours, of PROFESSIONALLY TAUGHT EXPERIENCE. To the actual rules of this country's roads. Then, as an extra curriculum class, then they could do defensive driving/general maintenance/what to look for that's wrong in a car. P.S, My Dad, if he ever had to take another driving test, would fail. Hard. Just read over that briefly because it's a shit night. However just to mention, firstly, if your dad would fail, then he should hand in his licence. Secondly, if you can't get 200 hours in a year or 2 (unsure on how long QLD L's last) then don't go for your p's the day you turn 18? Since when has it been a race? If you're not ready by the time you're old enough, then you keep on learning until you are ready. Driver education hasn't been 'proven' to work as far as I recall. Can you find any evidence to back this up? All the things you just mentioned about indicating around a round about etc, that isn't taught in a 'defensive' driver course. Yes I think kids need more driver training, but I think that comes with time on the road. Not if time on the road is with Mum and Dad who need to hand thier licences in or with some decrepit old driving instructor, Max. I dont know about any of the Defensive driving courses you may or may not have done (although i guess when you ACTUALLY become a real cop you might have to undergo some driver training) but my old boy paid for me to do one at the AHG Driving Centre in Perth just after i got my licence, and it was stellar. For Joe and Jane 16 year olds from the suburbs who have never driven outside of down to the shops with Mum in the passenger seat it would be more than a wise investment. Even people who have had thier licences for 20+ years, competition 4wd drivers and even guys who go on the occasional track day ALL walked out of that day lesson having learned something. A defensive driving course like that IS without a doubt an effective training tool for everyone. You cant practice things like oversteer and understeer as a regular Learner driver. Or what actually happens when your brakes lock up, among a multitude of real life situations that only happen when you need to have had practice......not when youre on a safe skidpan at a drving course. Courses like the above should be mandatory in getting your licence. Read it all, then fucking quote. You basically just said a bunch of shit, that has nothing to do with what I said, and if you think it does, you're an idiot. I don't mean a fucking "race" I live out rural, and guess what? There is no public transport on the weekend. That severely hurts my job searching. And even on the weekdays, there's three buses in, and three out, the entire day, a licence for some people is a must. The point about Dad, it doesn't matter if he should hand his licence in. HE'S TEACHING ME! The only reason I know, is because I was lucky enough to get five government funded lessons, from a driving school. Otherwise, I wouldn't know he was driving wrong. I never said anything about teaching road rules at a defensive driving course. I said, for schools to have a drivers ed class has a compulsory class in school. TO LEARN AND DRIVE ON THE ROAD. Like I said. Read it all, and maybe you would have said something of value. This. It should be, my parents agree. If I locked my wheels up, I would have NFI what to do, and would kill someone. It could be anything. A person jumping out from behind a tree, oil, god forbid, ice. Yeah, I live in QLD. Our taps froze. Not likely, but there could be ice on the road in some places. And. You could always learn that stuff on the road. But, it's not legal. And dangerous. Good job. Lol. ![]() I'll just leave this here..... ![]() |
