Ive beaten a r32 RB20 with those mods in my na supra, I have video footage it too. wow. i didnt think anyone could possibly try to question that as i thought it was common knowledge....apparently i was wrong. firstly i said that i was talking power at the flywheel, not at-the-wheels. secondly, a wrx comes with 169kw standard, and with an exhaust, intake and tune it will EASILY have over 200kw. same with skylines, supras, evos, etc. GTRs have over 200kw standard too remember. who was it that said comprehension wasnt important? ![]() |

QUOTE(WattsyLX @ Jul 19 2006, 01:05 PM) I think the thread has gone way off topic. The question was.... What would you prefer - 300kw NA GRUNT, or 200kw turbo? Lets see - 300kw NA.... the power is there right from the go, no spooling up required, Theres no forced induction to put extra stress on anything, And lets face the fact - its got 100kw more than the turbo choice! Bit of a no-brainer isnt it!? it has gone way off topic but still provided good conversations even tho it is plauged with the obvious closed minded wankers. ps this is by far the best post to sum up the question. |

If we're talking about an actual WRC car here, it'll probably have more torque than most 300kw V8s anyway, and it'll be heaps lighter, which would make it a quicker car, not to mention better-handling. |

The turbo car would more than likely kick ass in a drag but for example track work having 300kw there when you want it. As in put your foot down and instant YEHAAA!!!! Well what can I say you dont use a screwdriver to undo a bolt. If you know what i mean ![]() |

oh i love the turbo not becuase of its sound but becuase of the way u can drive them QUOTE(WattsyLX @ Jul 19 2006, 01:05 PM) Lets see - 300kw NA.... the power is there right from the go, no spooling up required, Theres no forced induction to put extra stress on anything, ok this guy is correct in some cases, but na cars if having the right equipment can act like turbo cars and have lag, if u look at the regular mivec, vtec, vvti. they all have power regions where low down they are as responsive, if u modify them even more u can make them act like a turbo car and be slugish till higher rpms. depends on how u set up the car, if u ask a few people around they will tell u the same if u moddify a na car for topend torque and power u will loose the responsivness down low. |

IMO a Clubbie looks no more attractive or discrete than an Evo either. And of course there's there's the spectre of build quality with Holdens, the frightening resale values, the extra rego, and of course that 6th gear is way, way, way too tall. ![]() |

QUOTE(DAL32 @ Jul 21 2006, 10:08 AM) Resale values hey? LOL How about those Evo 8 owners Mitsubishi completely screwed over when they released the Evo 9 with a $10k cheaper price tag? lol. HSV did it with the LS2 and they've been known to sell Clubbies for the price of an SS. In fact, they've basically done it with every release by trying their darndest to make the last gen look completely obsolete. And despite that I doubt the resale an ane Evo VIII (and it'll be the only Evo for a while to have an issue with resale unless they build a batch of lemons) will be any worse than an HSV of the same year. Not really like Mistubishi had a choice with the VIIIs anyway as Stuit mentioned, being the last model before it became a full-time addition to the range instead of just a limited-numbers import. ![]() |
