Remove the little hose (approx 6mm) that goes to the turbo, the floor it. Thats the best boost level to run

its acually the waste gate controler hose which runs from the turbo to the waste gate actuator, its almost the same as a evo turbo TD05 ? i think, wrxs run what ? 13psi or around stock, im not sure but mabey 2psi more and it should be fine, dont push it tho

hahaha, amusing holdenbeater, amusing.

I know of people running 18psi through an ej with standard turbo and its still chugging along. Boost cut is at different points on different models, depends on how much they run standrd. A friend of mine has an ej20 and his boost cut is at 14.5psi.

what year model wrx? 94-95 models have the TD05 equivalent 96 onwards have a TD04 turbo, you can run 20psi max before having to go to copper head gaskets, however 17psi+ can only be run in short bursts( on my EJ20T) because it begins to lean out after that. i have heard of guys running 22psi on stock internals and with stock fuel pump and injectors/ intercooler but i doubt their cars will last very long. and remember AWD stands for "A Weak Driveline".

yeh little hose thing, some tool like u would remove the oil lines hey !

twincam knows everything again,

ANYWAY ! the last think u want is to run alot of boost and blowing something, get the mods 1st then raise it alot.

btw the lux is running stock boost, boost bug is over

ummm if the oil feed line is 6mm there is something wrong... yes i am fully aware that the hose that needs to be modified is the vacume / boost line the comes off the actuator and goes to the inlet track after the turbo but before the throttle body...

But you knew that...

A good exhaust can usually free up a couple of psi on a standard wrx without touching the wastegate, that and a new intake and y pipe.

No one has even mentioneed the boost line that goes to the computer controller (on drivers side of engine bay) that cuts the fun when you go over say a 2 psi increase....maybe its all the bitching thats going on...

Anyway block up the hose that leads from this box to the vacuum outlet on top of the plenium (after the throttle body) or you will find your car begins to go then starts to stutter like hell & lose lots of hp....dont turn it too much over 17-18psi though if you want it to last....

See? I know everything too...laugh.gif I just dont make a point of it. 8) (Yes I am joking)

Does anyone else get all ewwy about the standard boost level on WRX's?

I like the good ol' days when real engineering went into turbo cars and they could make their power on 6-7psi..

None of this 1 bar standard BS... where's the scope for more??

My friends ej20 is standard on 9psi, with boost cut at 14.5psi.

And at least subaru owners don't need to put a rotary in their cars to make them go fast mr suzmot!
