The headunit in Brutis(1) cuts out because it has some sort of magical voltage sensor and because the regulator on the alternator of Brutis is stuffed, when the altenator is running above ~2500rpm, the supplied voltage is way above 13.8V, so as a safety it cuts the radio out. |

if it aint getting enough power it may switch of for about 2 seconds or so (all stereos different). usually this will be at idle when the stereo is cranking hard!!!. |

Usually they have a fuse for "front & back" but if its only one chanel then I'm guessing this isn't the problem. Have u checked that its not your RCA leads or its not the front left chanel of your head unit, if not check these things first. If it does come back to the amp there is a good chance that its fucked and unless its a real expensive amp or under warranty I wouldn't bother, this doesn't mean that its not going to be a simple prob with your amp and you should still get it checked out but more likley its stuffed |

could be your accesories wire which is used to turn the unit on. Also a sharp drop in voltage can lead to cut out cause the unit won't turn on or stay on cause the voltage has dropped below the minimum required voltage to turn it on. See if the accessories wire isnt on the same circuit as another commonly used part of electrics like brake lights or your indicators. If it is it can cut out when ur brake lights light up or something so run an acc wire from a relay or sumthin. otherwise check ur earth like everyone else says. |

i put my money on earth.. and also make sure none of the speaker wire's are shorting out, mine was cuttin in and out like this and all it was, was a speaker to close to the speaker and i'd hit a bump and they'd hit and the head unti would shut down.. it a protection thing that most have, took me months to figure it out |

can happen from wire rubbing on the body of the car or door trip who know? |

Wiggle the face around. Mine cuts out sometimes too and its because the face loses connection when i go over bumps, or even small pebbles as the shocks are original '81s  |

i had the same problem when i had an old battery that wouldn't charge to well in my car, everything seemed ok, but my head deck kept cutting out and not losing the settings when it came back, i put a new battery in and it was all good |
