Gee, I reckon a 2J would be off tap! My 302 is getting a blower VERY soon, so that will help the power output dept. tongue.gif

Stay away from the ford crap and put a chev in it already. 350 would go nicely.

first one i've seen with a windsor in it. usually it's the 350 chev. onya for doing it a little different.

It's very rare to see one of these still with the original engine, is there any reason for this?.

    Shit or what?

OT: very nice mate, a set of convo pro's would give it a tough stance.. more pics when blown 302 conversion is complete.

The reason for the Windsor is - ANY Chev engine (including Holden) offsets the universal joints AND differential several degrees due to offsetting the engine to fit....................... The Windsor is MINIMAL offset - hence the reason for blowing uni's and diffs in Chev powered Jag's.......
The original V12 was a fuel injected v12 - even 1976. They were very hard to keep up to tune and even if you did.......................... I would rather pay V8 rego than V12. PLUS the Windsor is around 150 kilo's lighter than the original V12 and hence the reason for custom lowered suspension - to get the correct ride height.
It is SOOOO smooth and quiet with the Windsor, you wouldn't realise it is NOT the standard engine. It's really a matter of taste - I would certainly prefer a 350 Chev in a 260Z than a 289.......... but that is only a basis of comparison to what you or I have seen or done previously. Thanks for the feed back guys, really appreciate it smile.gif
