Every now and then (its only happened 2 or 3 times) when the car is stationary and just idling, the revs sort of drop down, then they just start reving back up slightly, dropping down, reving back up etc, sort of like if I was just slightly tapping the accelerator pedal, from about 300 to 600 revs or so.

I just tap the accelerator so it goes to 1000 or so and its fine again?

Anyone have any ideas?

hmm, could be something like dirty fuel. Because you said it hasnt happened that often there isnt too much to reccomend just yet. If it gets worse the first thing i would be doing is replace the fuel filter.

Air con??? when this switches on and off it will change the engine revs. or if its really bad it could be the actuall compresser on its way out.

fuel regulator could also be the problem on my Zed the same thing started to happen and my mechanic changed the fuel regulator and it was no problem after that u suggest you take it to a mechanic.... where are you south or nothside ???

it could be the aircon.. I may of had it on.

and the car doesnt stall, it just revs up and down slightly. I have had problems with the car stalling before but thats because the blowoff valve gets dirty and doesnt close properly, well it does but takes too long. I just clean it now and then and that fixes the stalling problem.

I think he may have something to do with the problem of not being able to turn the boost up too, i got a FMIC and the car 'misses' in high revs even on like 8 psi sad.gif

ill check the plugs/leads and fuel filter/regulator and let yas know how things go.

thanks for the feedback so far

oh, and im on southside.

I havnt bothered taking it to my mechanic about the revs, cause its only done it about 3-4 times, and its very unlikely it will do it if they take it for a drive.

and no-one can tell me why I cant boost my car, ive heard everything under the book but no-one can give me a straight and definate solution.

with the revs it can be your computer getting a bad code so i'd even give reseting the computer a go, not hard.. just take the positive terminal off the battery
