i am there every sat nite (by the way love your car ovl666) i drive a purple vl com/calais with kit at moment she is a little rough due to a skank who kicked my rear qt panel due to jealousy there is always a few people in the m1 car club there some of the cars r crap but then a fair few r hot as we usually park up near the locked toilets last wk there was some underagers getting drunk with someone in a p.o.s. magna (real old one) the hit my poor car a few times with thier doors and then left their empty glass bottles in middle of rd so us enthusiasts could drive over them a member of the m1cc moved as many as we could without getting run over himself so anything to help get rid of idiots works for me.

i will define what i mean by idiots they r the fu#kers like the skank who kicked my car for whatever reason it doesnt matter , i just recently put alot of time and effort and $$$ in my car of my own money not mums or dads just to have it disrespected like that so it was nearly a finished project but now i have to get cash up again to have panelbeating done and get a respray all i had left to do was a more powerful engine and a respray. anyone can afford to have a nice car just start small and save up til u get what u want .

all the other idiots are the ones who bring the cops down there by being stupid, which gives us there to check out the nice cars a bad name too.

I have read this whole thread and the one it was refered from "Knobs At Broadwater, cop this".

I agree with what some people have said about the media manipulating this invitation to BWCP. The tourism industry in queensland generates billions in tourism $$ every year and like it or not the state government see car enthusiasts (or as they call them "hoons") as a real threat to this much loved revenue. ie. peter beaties anti-hooning laws.

i think there is a real danger here of the media turning this around on you as i dont think the goverment would hesitate to "put the pressure on" if they thought it might help their cause.

i totally agree with what you are doing tho, we all need to do something about the "bogan menace". i just dont think the media will help..

just my 2c tho.

I get it now, I think you mis-interpretd my post. I wasn't saying that beating people up was a good idea, nor was I implying you intended to beat people up (this time anyway). I was saying that the approach you are going to take on this occassion (not beating people up but just making your presence felt) seemed like a good idea and and I don't see a problem with it. After reading my posts again I can see how you would have taken it the way you did though.

But yeah, why would anyone want to beat someone up and throw their keys in the water. That would be the act of a total dumbass.

After reading this entire thread, I do have to congratulate OVL666 on his own dedication and enthusiasm towards the car scene and its improvement. I also think that the added enthusiasm and support of most people who have either posted or agreed to come in support is admirable. HOWEVER, we - the 'non-bogans' are there to, in some ways, 'police' or 'regulate' the bogans (nothing ambiguous about them, hence no ' '), but with such an enormous (predicted) crowd of what we hope to be 'non-bogans' how are we/you/anyone sure that things wont get out of hand on the 'non-bogan' side.

Take for instance most individual car community forums/websites. On all that I have ever visited I have at least once read complaints from some members about other members (often advertising in the form of stickers) and their generally irresponsible and negative attention drawing behaviour. What I'm saying is that these individual communities can't completely control the actions and attitudes of their own members, so how collectively can you be assured that this whole thing is not going to terribly backfire.

I'm not saying that everyone there in support will go AWOL and wreak havoc, but if you plan to have media attention and someone with a boostcruising.com sticker or sticker of any other recognised car club/community is recorded or witnessed breaking the law or acting irresponsibly, how do you think this will effect the attitudes of the media, police, politicians and the local and wider community???!

Not to mention the potential for some small over-zealous break-away groups who adopt some crazy vigilante mindset, because of which someone acting foolishly gets their head bashed in. Who do you think will be held culpable for this? In my opinion, the whole car enthusiast scene will just gain another negative label this time for violence and the primary organiser (OVL666) who is really not at fault will be personally blamed.

To put it simply, OVL666, I support your mindset and the inention of your actions, but you do realise your possibly taking responsibility for what looks to be at least a couple of hundred people, a fair amount of which (i'm assuming) you don't know? Furthermore have you considered the inherent detriment when one portion (however small) of the 'role-models' decides to act in a way contradicting the whole purpose of the activity?

Kudos to you guys for your efforts but I can see huge propensity for trouble in your 'ad hoc' accumulation and organisation of supporters/representetives/whatevers. I do hope I'm completely wrong though...

This aside I hope the pulsar will be registered and PNW10 powered by then so I can come and see how it goes tongue.gif

As for TUF131 mate im not charging ppl to go there im not running the event,if u look at the original post ive made the suggestion that ppl come down and hopefully the wankers will feel uncomfortable being there and leave.The talk of violence is only from the ppl who are the tuff ones on the keyboards.If a fight does break out im not responsible for it but dont worry there will be alot of filming going on and the tapes if needed will be handed over to the authorities to deal with.

MIKEY 1600 there has been cameras down there since day one back in 2000 hence how the cops catch up with alot of ppl dooing the wrong thing.

I think this is a great idea, as for ppl saying that car enthusiasts have good cars, i have a shitty 89 pulsar vector, so many things wrong with it rolleyes.gif , but i love cars & guess what? my pulsar vector is just that MINE, so honestly if ur happy then who gives a rats ass about what other people think?
