your talking about old diesel engines

he has a 2008 ford ranger which has a common rail set up which is all controlled by the ecu

common rail diesel engines dont use governors or adjustable injection pump

true

I borrowed a mates brand new twin turbo V8 Diesel Lancruiser D4-D ute the other day and it even has an airflow meter ....

new common rail systems are totally different from the olden days

Those bt50's have some serious turbo whistle.

They sure do. I have a stock 2014 model 2.2L BT50 and they whistle.

Is there anyone on here who is a very knowledgeable diesel mechanic?

Need to know if I remove my big standard muffler off my bt50 and just run straight pipe where it used to be, do I have to get it re tuned. Not really looking for power just make it a tad noisier.
