Anyone know of any places that do / sell good dump pipes in Brisbane? Would prefer a properly designed one rather than just an enlarged standard one.

I heard dump pipes increase the noise factor. Yes/No?

man that looks expensive!

Hoon: yes they do

because they dump into the ground the sound resinates across the ground giving a louder sound around the car and inside the car

if they exit to the rear and not the ground the sound just travels behind u!

well that is what i have found with my cars

and i have had both types of exhaust

haha, yeah right.. not the one in Geebung

I have a lovely flat corner of my transmission tunnel cos they were too fucking lazy to make the pipe come down lower so it would fit under the car.. pricks

Exotic will soon be getting the following work from me:

* Mount the intercooler

* Make Manifold

* Make intercooler piping (incl id pipe for BOV)

* Make intake pipe

* Make dump pipe for turbo leading into a high flow cat

* After cat make full 3" exhaust

I have personally hear and seen VERY good things from exotic, and heard nothing but praise (given out alot myself)

I think you have mixed up turbo dump pipes (the initial bit of exhaust from the turbo) with a bogan dump pipe (making the last 2' of your exhaust excessively big and pointing it towards the ground)

Thanks for the replys. Does Exotic do screamers? If not who does? (undecided whether I should get a screamer or not though).

hehe yeah me thinks that to! :?

sorry guys i'm not educated to much on turbo stuff but always willing to learn! so what is the dump pipe we r talking about??

and my dumpe pipes arent excessively big like a milo tin stuck to the back of my car

they are the same size throughout! tongue.gif

Exhausts that point to the ground i have always called dumper (like dumper exhaust) but i also know the exhaust pipe coming off a turbo is called a dump pipe. All the exhausts on my car have been dumpers, because of the bodykit.

Funnily, i have never been mixed up between the 2 LOL

A "Dump Pipe" when we're talking about a turbo car is the part of the exhasut that connects to the exhaust outlet at the back of the turbo and then connects to the front pipe (part that goes from the front of the car to the cat, assuming you have one :wink: ). Factory dump pipes are very restrictive, because at the back of the turbo you have the exhaust outlet and then you have the waste gate outlet (look at a turbo with an internal wastegate, its the little flap next to the big hole biggrin.gif ) and when the wastegate opens the gas kind of collides with the normal exhaust gas and doesn't flow very well. Then you have 2 options....

(1) Go with a Screamer Pipe (read very fukin loud) where at the top of the dump pipe the is a seperator welded accross the flange to seperate the normal exuast gas flow from the wastegate flow, then a small seperate pipe dumps the gas straight to the ground. This is the most effective way as the 2 exhaust paths are completely seperated.

(2) Exactly the same as the first but instead of dumping straight to the ground the pipe is joined further down the exhaust and works almost as well as the first way.

Sorry for the novel but you get the idea, think I got all that right....
