so we're heading down to the douglas hot springs tomorrow :P but i just googled it and google image'd it and noticed a few pics of crocs LOL so maybe no swimming!!

but we're also thinking of stopping off the the butterfly gorge, since its only like 17kays from the hot springs (as we have acess to a4wd landcruiser this weekend) and apparently this place is safe to swim at?

have any of you been to butterfly gorge/the hot springs?? what should we expect

Douglas is fine to swim at there should be signs and all sorts telling you so. There will be others swimming as well.

also, whats the best interstate car carrying company? best rates/service/time etc

There is mixed reviews on this. Search car shipping and the like on the front NT page. There is heaps of threads made about it. I used to use Toll but i used them about a month back and they damaged one car and then did not tell me the other one was just sitting in their shed. Went there asking where is was and they said were not sure. Got a call back two hours later saying oh no its here.

QUOTE
The daughter of Prime Minister Julia Gillard's partner has posed in a bikini for a men's magazine.

New York-based punk hair stylist Staci Child gives the middle finger in one shot as she tugs at a bra embossed with an Australian flag.

The 31-year old daughter of Tim Mathieson said her father had seen the Zoo Weekly shots, taken in Sydney, which expose her myriad tattoos.

'When I showed him the photos, he loved them,' she told the magazine.

'I think Julia will think it's a very Australian thing to do.

'I don't know if she'd pose for Zoo, but if she did, she'd look very beautiful.'

Unlike Ms Gillard, Ms Child supports gay marriage.

'It should definitely be legal,' she said.

Ms Child said she had never heard of Ms Gillard when her dad began dating her in 2006.

'I don't follow politics much but I knew he had a girlfriend, so I was happy,' she said.

Provocative radio announcers asked Ms Gillard during the election campaign if she would pose topless for Zoo but the prime minister said no.

Ms Gillard appeared in a glamorous cover story and photo shoot for The Australian Women's Weekly, wearing smart business attire, during the campaign.

Ms Child, who is reportedly a hairdresser to celebrities including Lady Gaga and Paula Abdul, was raised by her mother in the Victorian town of Shepparton.

BJ - Douglas hot springs was, well, hot haha we stayed there for a little while, but there wasnt much shade, so we went down the 4wd track to butterfly gorge. This was the highlight to be honest! such a beautiful place, it was AGES from the carpark in pluggas haha and we had to do some rock climbing to get to the main pool.
There was a few families there and they all swam over to the crevas/whatever else was over there. To be honest, i was F***ing scared and went in to my knees and just sat in the water. It felt so isolated and in the middle of no where, i didnt want anything munching on me haha

but all in all was a great day, good to get away and see some of the country side (NOTE: the 'scenic' route from adelaide river to the douglas/daly area is not too scenic, BUT the 110km/h speed limit on the shitty single lane road was interesting haha)

thanks again for the idea for the adventure!!

how was everyone elses' weekend!!!!!!!!
