I think it'll be a lot harder for labour to spend spend spend this time Lars. I'm looking forward to 3 years of not a whole lot happening. In regards to who the majority voted for, I think its pretty clear that no-one really wanted either of the major parties.. which is why its ended up in the hands of the independants- I know I put both major paries last on my ballot papers. The libs may well look after the top end of town and the gernal economy better, but its often at the expense of the grass roots of any country which is health and eductaion, we need labour to spend in these areas to make up for the previous Liberal govt who focus was not on these primary issues. Its all part of the ebb and flow of Australian politics. Once health and education improves we will have the workforce needed for the next liberal govt focus on economy. ![]() and cunts have you met any of them??? I'd like to see you say they are all kunts when/if you ever met them! Attack the policies by all means but why continue to attack an individual you have never met or have no idea about..? |

I'm having trouble understanding it. House of Representatives National Two Party Preferred Result Australian Labor Party 5,859,129 Liberal/National Coalition 5,859,091 Or if you are referring to the first preference votes, it all comes down to electoral distribution. Liberal might have got more votes overall, but they might have all been landslides in individual electorates. Check out the breakdown by polling places for Solomon for example. Most of the Northern suburbs polling places gave it to Labor, whereas the Palmerston polling places were Liberal. I believe Lars is referring to ALP winning 71 seats Coalition winning 73 seats from AEC Website as of 10 minutes ago so in any contest that is a loss for ALP not a win Buying the independents votes, with ministerial portfolios and billions of dollars, that were previously promised to other election promises then saying that these promises will no longer happen in other electorates as she has to pay for the bribes to the independents will only bring on her down fall at next election. The ABC was reporting today that she has promised the Greens one thing and the independents the exact opposite, I believe this can only mean that this government will possibly last less than a year then back to the polls, then all her bribes will come back to haunt her. The independents said they wanted a stable government but with Gillard playing off independents and Greens with opposite stories i cant see this happening. Some times wining at all costs will bring on your down fall i believe Gillard will discover this at the next election in possibly under a year. Time to place my bet at centerbet on how long the government will last. Will be a interesting couple of months. |

there goes fishing ![]() Ma put out a media release today (from the ABC news site) QUOTE Ms Crossin says the Gillard Government also needs to properly consult commercial and recreational fishermen over its marine park policy. Labor's former member for Solomon, Damian Hale, says anglers' fears of a deal with the Greens to lock up large parts of the Territory coastline for marine protected areas contributed to him losing his seat. Senator Crossin says she does not think a deal on marine parks is part of Labor's agreement with the Greens and she wants the Environment Minister to hold proper consultations. "I think there is a need to get the minister responsible for this area to re-engage with people locally," she said. "We have a process that we set out. "Clearly people up here are not happy with that and we need to be re-engaging in a genuine way with our local seafood council and our local amateur fishing people." Email her your concerns she always checks her emails and takes your issues on board and raises them with the appropriate people - she's in Canberra now so a good time to do it while she's down there! ![]() |

The correct stats at the declaration of the polls were actually 72 each party Labor got Bandt, Wilkie, Oakeshot and Windsor to claim 76 and form Govt Libs got Crook and Katter only 74 Abbott was to 'buy' the votes also with Ministerial and Speaker offers and the Libs offered more $$ in doing so and with money that not even they could explain where it was to come from.. Will be an interesting few months, interesting to see if Abbott will join this reform of the Aust Govt that clearly the people wanted or will he become further destructive to the processes..! Will test his leadership thats for sure.. I guess you know more than the AEC visit this page and it shows that not all have been declared yet and my figures reflect the currant situation http://vtr.aec.gov.au/HousePartyRepresentation-15508.htm |

Counting in Corangamite has finished if you actaully look on the Corangamite page not the initial front page of the AEC - try recent updates for more factual information Devo! Julia could not form Government if ONE seat was in the balance as this couldve turned the Govt to the Libs..! Besides that its done and dusted days ago GET OVER IT!! WE WON!! ![]() i just have to pick on this Mel, cos noone has won, it will not be official until all votes are counted and declared by the AEC, then parliment can sit and do the vote, you should know this, altho it is unlikely the independants will change their minds, they still however have the ability to do so. |
