id say thats overkill. every time i change the oil, i am entertained to hear the noise, when u first re start the engine. oil pressure light is on for at least 5 seconds, sometimes alot longer. every month ur engine has to go thru that....

the only people that i know of that change their oil that often r cabs. each month or around 7500-10000 kays for them. isnt 3 months or 5000 kays the benchmark? every month is a deadset waste unless ur doing massive mileage like a cab.....

I like to tag along with groups of motobikes that go for rides out in the country and you have to drive very very hard to keep up with them, i try and do it atleast once a week and i goto the track abit, so it's not really overkill smile.gif

yeah every 4 weeks is dumb esspessially all the oils. thats just wasting valuable resources and costing someone who isnt you money!!! and if you are worried about new oil start up oil pressure just remove a source to stop it from starting. crank it for like 5 seconds or so and then fix it so it will start!! alot more kind.

change your diff oil when it needs changin. if it is frothy, black, dirty etc change it!!!

and ppl wonder why world wide oil prices are so high laugh.gif seriously though if your using descent quality oils throughout your car (I spent around $150 on engine, diff, trans and brake fluids last time I serviced my car) I roughly follow say about 3months/5000kays for engine oil (espically it its turbocharged) and about 6 months for gearbox and diff oil (might as well do 'em together) and even that may be over kill.....just keep checking all fluids on a regular basis, thats the best guide of all!

every 4 weeks though......

yeah dont stinge on the price you pay for oil espesially engine oil!!! mine cost 60bucks for 5L and that trade cost price i think rrp is around $80. but in the gearbox and diff penrite seems to be really good

ohhh and i do it every 3000km

yeah sorry Fats, ur wrong on this one. every month is overkill unless u have really bad BO, like beaded seat covers and drive a orange falcon

unless u got a real good diff with good shit in it i wouldnt bother, but if its awsome diff that u cherish id prob do it like every 12mths depends how u drive if ur the burnout king maybe 6mths

check oil every 10,000 kms / 6 months and top up when necessary

Hmm, mine might be up for a check / change..

The last time I changed it was when I blew the diff up.. oil was a greeny / grey colour, and it reeked too - my work clothes still stink of diff oil, and that was 6 months ago
