Oh, that's not what I mean.

Handheld UHF - Looks like walkie talkie and you can carry it around like mobile phone.

Mobile UHF - Looks like Car Stereo and you can install it in your car.

I hope you will understand my question better ...

I would get an incar one simply for the fact your wouldnt have to worry about charging it all the time or gettin batteries for it. Plus i would say you would get better range from an incar one as well tongue.gif

Yea, I know...I was playin.

In Car Unit: Goods: Better range, no need for batteries, more flashing lights. Bads: Can't take it out of the car and go for a walk, big ugly antenna on your car. Even if it is a slim antenna, it's still ugly.

Hand Held Unit: Goods: Portable, goes anywhere. Fits in your pocket. Bads: Uses batteries, unless you buy some rechargables - it costs more, not a powerful range.

Question is....which would YOU prefer?

depends if you want to look like a trucky smile.gif

I got a handheld because i can take it in any car, take it on my motorbike, or whereever i go, it can be easily passed around the car. I only want to talk to people within 5km anyway.

Well I recently got a handheld Uniden 040. I wouldn't regret getting a handheld for a sec, it's kinda permanent if you have an in-car one and you can't take it around with you. I have heard the Uniden's are very good on batteries too so there isn't any real need to get rechargable, unless perhaps you get another brand.

Is extra antenna must have if I get incar UHF ?

What about existing antenna ? Can't I use it ?

I like idea of incar UHF smile.gif but I don't want to attach extra antenna :? ...

I might go to Brisbane Carsound or Dick Smith tomorrow and check items out 8)

By the way, does every cruiser have UHF in their cars ?

I think it's a necessary item for group driving ... smile.gif

prelude guy, i have a uniden 040 but i dont cruise a great deal. extra antenna is a must if u have in car. and roof mounted is probably the best place.
