dont know of any atm but im always on the lookout, obviously the sss coupes are always going to be rare

Oh nice ! I would love an a9x or slr I saw an ex Brock one getting off the boat in melb apparently the guy had kept it stored the whole time he owned it and only drove it to deliver it to it's new owner

Um, I do understand how an independant rear end works, and all you ramblings may actually be relevent if not for one thing! The XE Falcon DOES NOT HAVE a leaf spring rear end!! :thumbsup: I would have thought a qualified mechanic would know that, lol! (remind me never to bring my car to you for servicing)!
It has a 4 link arrangement! The XD had a leaf spring rear end, as did all the classic GT Falcons before it, and it is a suitable design for a car of that size and weight but the XE and XF changed to a 4 link rear!
Why the fuck are you rambling on about old 6 cylinder engines aNyway? Mine is a 351 V8, so all that crap is irrelivent to me!

XF's weren't released with a 351 in fact I remember theres some old advertising material in my old mans shed that crows about how the injected 4.1 made more power than the old V8's... Anyway, your car can hardly be called stock. Likewise, if the 180B has a FJ20/CA18/SR20DET don't be too surprised.

They still handle really badly, four link or not. Good for drag though.

I'm not trying to say you need to justify your choice in cars, I like XF's, its just they do handle badly, they did have a pretty crap set of engines in them stock and they do use a bucket of fuel. What they are also is comfortable, torquey, reasonably reliable, cheap and easy to maintain. Whack a set of triple webers on a manual 4.1, then a lumpy cam and your set.

...Shit I'm talking myself into a Falcon again.

haha, lets just clear some stuff up here. I dont have an XF Falcon, I dont like em cause I think they look weird with a rounder front and a square arse! Yes Chivsding, you are correct, they were never released with a V8 because there was a fuel crisis at the time and the V8 was canned for a few years because they were politically incorrect :)
The XD was a leaf spring rear end, and I dont care what you say, a 302/351 XD is still tough as fuck!! The XE and XD changed to a 4 link, coil spring setup which was much better and STILL carries a load beter than any independent rear! Have you seen what happens to the rear wheels of an IRS car when you actually put some people in it!?
My car has a 351. It has a long list of good stuff inside it. It has a brand new performance intake, brand new 650DP, new dizzy and new nitrous setup. It prolly makes around 350 to 400hp (Ill know next week cause its going on the dyno) but there are LOADS of cars that are much faster, including most standard turbo cars, lol. But I dont care, cause mine makes the right noise to MY ears and can light em up at will!
I have spent a lot of money to ensure my car handles properly and stops as well as it goes, but its still no GTR Skyline, lol
I have no idea what a FJ20/CA18/SR20DET is! I never will cause I dont care, cause they are prolly 4 cylinders, therefore they dont sound right and have no torque lol.
Mookie, you are correct, the XR6 makes more power than the XR8, and as the engine is considerable lighter, the 6 cylinder car goes faster. I dont care. I am still buying an XR8, cause there is a limit to how fast you can drive on the road anyway!
6s and 8s use more fuel. Dont care, still rather drive one, lol! If that makes me politically incorrect or environmentally unfriendly, so be it.
Oh, and another thing that will prolly have lots of kids on here rolling their eyes, I prefer auto boxes!! If you wanna go REAL fast, you gotta drive and auto, its a fact! A shift kitted auto with a slapstick shifter and 3000rpm stally is waaaay more fun than a manual and heaps faster :thumbsup:

You obviously haven't driven something with an awesome full manual auto box with stally in it then. I converted mine from 5 speed and its the best thing I ever did to the car
