Not a bad arvo cant wait for them to piss of using the spit as a movie set haha Will be a while before they do that............... http://www.goldcoast.com.au/article/2009/0...coast-news.html QUOTE THE Gold Coast's worst-kept secret has been confirmed with a set for the third movie in The Chronicles of Narnia franchise being built at The Spit.
Believed to be a fake ship, the set gave away the 'secret location' Narnia movie executives have been so tight-lipped about. After months of speculation, Gold Coast City councillor Susie Douglas revealed she met the movie's makers three months ago at the top of Q1 and convinced them the Gold Coast would be the best location for the multi-million dollar movie. "I remember people from Hollywood came over to look at the Gold Coast and we were up at the Q1 convincing them we were the best place to film," she said. "We were vying for it against other places. Fox Studios in Sydney was another option for them. "Before they made their decision we had to show them what we had which Sydney doesn't." The project has been shrouded in secrecy. It is either going to be called Invisible Army or Dragons Prow with both phrases featuring at the site yesterday. The film company is also called Dragons Prow Productions and one of the signs at the site featured the logo as well as the words 'Invisible Army Production Area 1'. Location manager Gareth Price refused to confirm if it was for The Chronicles of Narnia. He said people would soon be able to see what was being built. Construction began on June 16 and it's believed it will continue until mid-August when filming will start. Cr Douglas said the Gold Coast had won the executives over with its beautiful locations and laid-back attitude to filming. People cannot park near the area or access the western side of the Seaway wall until the set is cleared. |
