thanks for all those who rocked up, and as it turned out in the end we did have a small bbq, seeing as though a few people went to negative town because i wasnt sure about the bbq (refer to a previous post of mine, the organisers of the bbq had a bit of trouble...) but we worked through it and it was good |

Gday all!!! wow was a great cruise for a great charity!! how much did we raise in the end?? last count was 400 i think! not a bad effort i reckon, was a bit of a pitty that most of the cars that were at chermside shopping center did not make it to the entertainment center but hey was still good!!! and aloso had a good lil cruise to mt cootha afterwards as well!!! To those 2 or so people haveing a cry that there was no BBQ at the end.... HOPELESS!! its $10 for god sake people gave Tim money and did not even show up!!! Ummm no one complained cos there was "no bbq" its was more along the lines of organisation. i am all for charity and more than happy to support where and when i can, but reading this orginial thread, it was an organised event, show and shine, police escort bla bla bla.. that is all what normal charity cruises entail. then today, no organisation, no escort, no information and everyone bailed without letting others know what was happening. thanks for all those who rocked up, and as it turned out in the end we did have a small bbq, seeing as though a few people went to negative town because i wasnt sure about the bbq (refer to a previous post of mine, the organisers of the bbq had a bit of trouble...) but we worked through it and it was good ![]() i had a good time, was good to see a group of nice cars out and meet a few nice people. we raised about $500!! which is awesome guys!!! for those of you who seemed upset when i was unsure about the bbq and asked what the $10 was for (charity abviously) and got negative on me...please post publicly here that you would like your money back and i will gladly refund. next charity event will be same time next year. streetfame and me will probably organise a cruise like somerset soon again and if each person puts in say $5 we can do the bbq and stuff like that properly. cheers, gnarly ![]() noone wants a refund. no one asked for a refund. see above comments. the charity cruises i have attended, had people from the charity attending, the police were aiding the event, there was sections and donations taken upon entering for maximum fundraising and everyone was informed about times of when things were happening and what was going on throughout the day. I have no issues with anyone, but just felt that letting people know what was going on would have been good. i came down when you needed the $ at the start to help make this happen and even waited an hour and half for you to come because i wanted to support this.. and then when everyone bails from the event and doesnt tell you whats happening its a little weird. |

I'll just come out of the closet and say it, the organisation needs to be greatly improved to come anywhere close to a decent event. I'm sorry, I said it. To me it felt like just an ordinary CB cruise (complete with the tools leaving the westfield carpark) |

i agree ^ totally felt like an everyday cruise.... nothing even mentioned about the charity at all on the day.. just cars and people and everyone scattering in all different directions.. |
