yeah the cruise will be likely to occur in around a month from now, i just have to finalise things with the registered charities...

sounds like we will be having a great turnout, tell everyone you know lets do it big, as soon as i get the date finalised i will be looking for confirmations as i will need to organise the BBQ lunch and soft drinks etc for the day.

it will be a meet, cruise to a park/football field for a show 'n' shine and BBQ etc. there will also be raffles, prizes for peoples choice, best paint...etc etc....

this is already shaping up to be an epic day, and will be an annual event.

Update:
Starlight foundation have decided to come on board for this event.

McGnarly is close to having everything sorted, but the last thing required is a carpark, a sporting field, an industrial block or something that can house the cars for a show and shine and/ or just general parking while everybody socialises and whatever else.

If anybody has any suggestions please post them up.

Also, a creative name for the cruise, based on the Starlight foundation and what they do, would be nice if anybody has any ideas.

What about actually visiting the RBCH? I'm sure the kids would love to see that many nice cars or a showgrounds somewhere etc I'm sure they would come on board for a good cause!

I am diggity down for this one. I'll be busting out the wallet as well if there is somewhere to donate (legitimately) on the day. I have no photography skills at all BUT I can cook a mean sausage sizzle if you need any help in that area.

thats a good idea but i no most of the kids r not allowed to go out of the hospital, well the cancer department anyway is pretty strict on it.

hey if ur looking for a venue their is a place in cleveland that they held the massive charity crusie last year too, their was around 400 cars, its a show grounds and a couple of footy fields they hold the cleveland auto show there every year, and fit around 1,000 cars in there, what the cruise did last year was have a goldcoast meet, northside, southside meet and everyone met at the show grounds around 10.30 charged 10 dollars to get into the show and shine for the cars and 5 for just coming to look at the cars,

As for the 'name of the event' I'm pretty sure that Cruise for a Cure has already been done .... How about Headlights for Hope? Obviously all cruisers drive with headlights on until we park, raising awareness of our cruise as we go and also the cause?

If the name is too gay or you don't like the gimmik I'm sure boosters can come up with something better! After reading all of the posts with the snappy come backs, I'm positive an awesome Cruise Title will be found after a few more posts!

Just throwing it out there ....

With illnesses such as this, I hope they never find a cure. I hope they concentrate (and find) on finding the cause instead (because only by knowing the cause can you then prevent it occuring in the first place).

Personally, headlights for hope sounds great. Could I possibly suggest

'Running for remission'? (I know, sounds like it's an athletics event)
'Cars for a cause' (too vague)
'Cars for kids' (same deal as above, too vague)
'Cancer cure cruise' (says a bit more about what we want to do, but not catchy enough, would be good to describe the event though)
'Rice for remission'? (Heheh, might tick off the holden/ford crew)
'Turbos for tumours' (wayyyyy too tacky)

If you really want to make this a fun day, why don't we take some kids in our cars with the parents permission? (Not sure if we'd need blue cards though for that unsure.gif )
