Hey all,

It's too late to call people and my searches have come up empty.
So it leads me to ask this ever helpful community . . . . .

How much does it cost to get a saftey certificate in Brisbane these days?

Unlike most of the people who post stupid questions on here I did actually TRY before making this post.
And surprise google didn't get me the info I wanted (nor did QT), hence the post.

To everyone else, thanks ver much for the help! I'll call a few places today and book it in.

Between about 50-120, depending on who you go through. And if they're dodgy. (some guys will even overlook a few things for some more cash if your lucky wink.gif )

To get my Motor, Gearbox and Brakes MOD plated, it cost me $350... but thats after 3 different business' up here wouldnt touch my V8 180... So anything less than that is a Bonus!!

QLD transport recommended pricing for RWC inspection: $66

Mobile, expect $88

Get a mobile one, if it needs anything you then have the option to call round workshops and get the best price for the repairs required, as opposed to dropping your car off at a workshop and being at their mercy to charge you what they want.

Why are people quoting prices for modification plates?

They're COMPLETELY DIFFERENT to a Safety Certificate.

As AUTO-KING has stated, there's no set price by QT, it's only a recommendation. Most workshops will be between $60-$70, however if they're one of the Dodgy Dave's of the business you'll find them charging $100-$120.

I remember seeing $54.50 posted somewhere in shop (copy from QT Site) and the standard price for one although this was well over a few years ago. $60-70 in shop and $120+ Mobile is about the going price.. No difference in shop and mobile roadies, you don't have to get the work done at the shop if you don't like.

i work in a mechanic shop that does roadies.....standard price is $55 plus gst...so $60.50....it is what u should be payin....its the standard as set by QT and all that....
