Just wondering if anyone knows of anyone that has one and if it's as good as I think it's going to be.

I've seen all the specs on the net and had a look at one at Robina Holden today .......... they look really nice I just hope the bumpers are colour coded cause otherwise they look crap. :?

Overpriced, unreliable car that Holden ads are trying to market as a fast, good handling euro-chic fantasticar...

For god sake, forget what your hobo bogan family/boyfriend have told you and look at some Japanese cars, they are better in every regard except you won't pick up as many skanky white bimbos than in a holden.

Suzmot : Just so you know I don't actually have a 'hobo bogan family/boyfriend' and the people I do know with Holden's have no influence over my choice of a car. I just thought they looked nice.

I currently drive a Proton Satria and was hoping to go up a step. Holden/Ford doesn't really worry me.

I want brand new to then I get all the warranty.

Anything with "SRI" is usually gay (barina/astra/whole host of european cars)....

I'd agree with SSS pulsar, they really do cain for what they are. Still slow, but for a NA 4 pot they go orright I spose.

Are you really keen for a FWD NA engine? And what about a second hand car thats only a year or two old from a car yard? They'll give balance if not additionaly warranty on a car.

A friend has suggested a 2000 model WRX cause then it will be in the same price bracket.

I dunno though I've just always found having the warranty very convenient .......... and who says the second hand WRX isn't flogged to death :?

Buy one off an older man that has older kids that dont drive. Its less likely to have been floged. smile.gif

Dude if i was you id go for the WRX, if your looking at keeping the car stock you will find this the best choice as there resmelby fast stock.

I agree with krawler the SP20 is a bag of shit and most SRI cares are also not the best, but when your looking a a cumphy small car i guess there aigght.

Yeah the astras arent a bad car for someone who isnt overly concerned about performance. For something thats reasonably zippy and built solid i would say they are pretty good laugh.gif

Thanks for you input guys I'm still none the wiser laugh.gif

The WRX could be scary though cause I only have 5 points as it is, not good for my opens. I love the burble of them though .......... might have to test drive each one lol not much competition between them though i'm assuming.

 B4 people start mocking them has anyone here actually OWNED an SP20? NO? I have, and it was a FUCK LOAD of fun to hoot around in  , actually had the first one sold in QLD. Put a zorst on it and a K&N in the box and it made a HUGE difference. Ate up many a car that wasn't expecting it. For a lil 4pot N/A, i'd never look anywhere else. (FOR the PRICE) b4 i get flamed, i know the clios are a gazillion times faster.

Heres my 2 cents. I actually work for Holden and I sell the cars. I think the SRi is a hot little car. The performance isn't out of dis world but they do go good. And they are so sturdy on da road. Its up to you ofcourse but they are a good looking thing. By the way. If you get one from Robina Holden your looking at 6 years/175000ks warranty.

Ciao biggrin.gif

Thanks for that 50SWT ............ 6 years is oright!

I'll test drive both after Christmas I guess and compare the benefits.

hey angel..

i actually like astra's/vectra's, they look like a nice little car, but make sure u also look at the SP20!....i think they are sexual...

Alright I hate to sound like the dumb female here but what is a SP20??

I found it, thats the Mazda6 hey?? I wish I could afford one of those, they want $40K

BoostedS15
Post #23

Mazda Sp20 323 Astina, (look at the hatch, the sedans are crapola)

Nice factory body kit, 2lte 100kw motor, but add a pod and pipe and i'd be closer to 115 or there abouts. Nice interior and a good stock stereo. Cheaper than an SRI

And faster.

But for the same money you could do so much better. But really your car, so you know what you want. By asking all of us we will just confuse you.

Well I've booked a test drive in the SRI Astra, the SP20 Mazda and a 2000 model WRX. I think three is enough to choose from. :?

you don't buy a wrx to drive slowly. I guarantee you all wrx's have seen redline at one time or another. some just get caned more than others. 8)
