Swapped straight out of a 911 GT2 actually...

seriously, its the h6. Some may find this amazing, but subaru actually did make other engines other than the 4cyl boxer...

only problem with the H6 is its thirst, lack of torque (which is fixed in this example) and subaru's amazing inability to produce a reliable turbo version thats economical.

Garrett sell it as a 450-700hp turbo meant for 2 to 6L motors, so should go alright on your 3L boxer. Interesting looking setup, I'll give you that!

How far off being done is this? Be interested to see what sort of results you get from it. What gearbox are you going to have behind this thing?

My mate started a project kind of like this with his my00 wrx, it's got a 3L six sitting above the crossmember and a GT47-88R sitting atop the exhaust manifold.... but it's a 2JZ-GTE lol. It'll be great when its finished but being a workshop owner he never gets time to work on it. I think the last thing he did on it was cutting the rear sheet metal away to fit the 15 x 15s under the rear after chatting to the guys from GAS motorsport and them suggesting a setup like this (also running dual stage nitrous and meth) would need some serious rubber to keep it on the ground, but its been a few months since he had time to work on it again.

Anyone who calls BS on it, I've seen it with my own eyes and even helped him out on it while we modified the cross-member to fit the engine and turbo under the factory bonnet, and by pure luck you can look straight thru where the crank will sit and see straight line to the diff centre - bonus!
