QUOTE(clutch-monkey @ Jan 2 2009, 12:30 PM) why not keep it in here? Exactly, why not keep the hotrod/rat rod talks in here rather than spreading it all out across the forum |

Frankly i'd rather be seein a shitload more Hot Rods and real old cars on here than the 50 million ricer shitboxes, but eh.. we need some more REAL oldschool in this area before it gets spread everywhere else i guess. |

QUOTE(dark_fool @ Jan 2 2009, 09:45 PM) Or like Dead Sled has suggested some where else maybe we should make this forums title "Pre 1978" or something because that's the borderline i would call 'old school' and even then it better be a good car if it was made in 1978. you have a good point "old school" is classed as cars 30 years or over so pre 78/79 sounds good although there's nothing wrong with the newer stuff i just thought i put the topic up to start a discussion on the idea in the "right environment" without having all the crap that goes on |

I think it should just be pre '80 (Up to 1979) Aussie and American. That includes all your old Holdens and Fords, as well as Yank Tanks and Hot Rods / Kustoms / Lowriders ect. |

Deal with it or fuck off i rate that whole post and think your onto a winner. |

I think we have already decided that a ratrod only forum would be unworkable and that it would be pre'80 Aussie and American cars. |

QUOTE(DeadSled @ Jan 7 2009, 12:04 AM) Boot It, A Rat Rod is infact one of those POS American Hot Rods.. done where there is no floor at all, rust hanging out everywhere.. the chassis is all bird shit welds and its a complete and utterly unsafe peice of shit. What i'm building is a Traditional styled Hot Rod. If you wana see what Traditional Hot Rods / Kustoms are like.. go on the HAMB - www.jalopyjournal.com. Very good forum. Just don't sign up and post straight away.. you'll get flamed to the shithouse. If you sign up.. read it for a good 6 months and get the feel of the place before you post something stupid. As has been said.. the Oldschool forum basically needs to be Pre - '79 Aussie and American cars. No old Jap shit, No 80s shitboxes.. Just straight up Holden, Ford, Chev, Valiant, Pontiac, Buick, Chrysler ect. theres already place for for these cars its called www.aussiev8.com like i already said a classic car is a classic car no matter what country it was made and weather its rwd or fwd i dont think nathan is goin to open up a forum just to suit a very small amount of ppl that will only be for about 5% of classic cars and only about 2% of users on this site i would to see just a pre 79 forum with all cars alloud so only aussie and yankie cars hey what about british classic pre 79 cars |

Just straight up Holden, Ford, Chev, Valiant, Pontiac, Buick, Chrysler ect This section of boostcruising is meant to be a forum for the owners of any oldschool cars to meet and chat. Not one particular niche of the oldschool community. If you want it more oldschool just change the cut off date as most people have suggested already or add more sections if you want to categorize. You can't just turn the ONLY Oldschool section on boostcruising into Aussie/American only. It would be plain silly. |

QUOTE(DeadSled @ Jan 8 2009, 01:42 PM) Not under my watch As Phil said.. the term "Oldschool" refers to generally speaking Aussie and American old cars, but certian models such as the ones you listened usually don't get considered Oldschool. By 60s and 70's Holdens and Fords i'm talking like Toranas, Kingswoods, Falcons, Capri, EH EJ HD HR FB EK ect. We're talkin the kind of cars that guys in their 40s would consider Oldschool.. back when they were 20, 20 years ago. Back then a POS Commodore was a new car. I'm fairly sure you know what we mean, you just want to argue the point anyway hey a ford capri cant be alloud as thats a british car yes deadsled i like shit sturing it dont matter anyway my next project car will be alloud in here anyway |
