was a pretty good day, i ploughed through that tyre tread on the way there too, flicked up all under my car, lucky i bought a genuine plastic front bar and not the fiberglass one otherwise it would have smashed for sure!!!! did any coasters get done on the way home? i got flashed and told to turn around by some blokes in a silvia on the way back to the highway, figured some people must have been getting done???? also drove through the spit on the way home and there were a couple of highway patroll cars pulling people over and defecting them... i went through no dramas, but yeah hope no one else got caught out???

Brisbane Meet..
Few people had issues yeah? The meet was set for 11am, leave for 11.30am. It takes about an hour to get to Cleveland so that would make arrival time on par with the Gold Coasters for 12.30. I was on the phone to Glenn at 10.45, and apparantley half the cars there decided to leave early because it was too hot. That cant be put back on the organisers, as they were already early to the arranged meeting time...

In terms of people arriving and complaining about the fact no one else was there, thats what normally happens when you arrive before the organised time.

I admit, the setup definately did not cater for the ammount of people and cars we had. Honestly, we did not expect today to be as big as what it was. My sincere apologies for that mishap.

In saying that, organisers today were limited, as once again, we did not expect as many people to attend. We had planned an adequate ammount of staff for the size we expected. Situations like that are simply out of our hands.. Sorry sad.gif

I would like to thank everyone who made the trip to come out, who behaved and gave to charity. We have estimated to raise around $5000 for The B105 Christmas Appeal towards the Roayls Childrens Hospital. Thankyou to everyone who supported todays event!

To everyone who decided to be 'wicked cool' when you left, thanks alot. Doing shit like that ruins the image for the rest of us who were actually there to raise money for charity. Do you selfish pricks have nothing better to do than wreck shit for others? Thankyou for giving the other 95% of us a bad name. You are the reason a majority of the community hates anyone who shares a passion in moddifying their car.

You learn from your mistakes... right?

of course not. every cruise/event there will be skids to leave, nothing will change that

not even the 5-0

not everyone is born with equal amounts of common sense

Understandable.

Its the lack of decency and repsect some people have (or dont have) for others, that ruins it for the rest of us.

how about the prang on bloomfield st....just coming up to the long st round-about????
where all the cars were banked up......

i didnt know anything about this, but got stuck in the traffic (stock swift with Aussie flag) coming into cleveland.....so i went in and checked it out.....

looked like a great turn out......

Street Tuned
Post #444

Yeah was a good day, shame about the traffic on the highway

But I'll be buggered if the lead group were doing 80 on the highway like Loz said, I never caught them the hole way and i didn't exactly drive slowly.

good to see so many turned, anyone have any idea how much money was raised?

Did anyone see how many accidents there were though? Oddly enough all that I saw were in cleveland.

Although possibly not related to the cruise a P plater with a modified Civic and Air Brushing went head first into something, judging by the cars front end it was very solid and round.

Also on Bloomfield St. there as a 4 car pile up which included I think a Black Modified WRX and Skyline along with two other Citizens of the community.

Keish dont stress too much man, Im from the area and the cops are pretty good there most of them like cars and for the most part turn a blind eye to the modified scene as it is no where near as bad as what happens on the GC.

You guys should see the cleveland roads now though... JESUS you lot did a number on them. An intersection near where I live has two big black mark from one side right accross half way down the street.

Not to mention all the donut marks and everything the roads are pretty scared up thats for sure

most boring event ever

and the cruise was poorly organised

ahhhh ive vented now

Sorry Jay the cruise couldnt cater to your liking.
little bit difficult when you organising an event where more than half the cars are better than autosalon, more cars than you can poke a stick at.
Maybe next time (which is quite frequent of your attitude)
GET OFF YOUR LAZY WITH TRASH ASS AND PUT IN SOME HELP ALSO!!!

To everyone else I hope you all had a great day out.

Not denying that but not everyone has aircon and sitting in a car at 1.00pm for ages kinda takes alot away from the day.

The spot itself was pretty crap (for a however many car cruise) ie. mainly the single entrance, and rather boring surroundings, but i know that i myself couldn't find a better spot for the meet to cater for such numbers. But on the other hand it was a great location, as you said, right of the centre of everyone.

The cruise out there was pretty fun and i always love highway blockades.

I do think more thought could have gone into setting up the venue prior to everyones arrival, but oh well! i had fun and thanks to Loz, Hunzi, UNC and everyone else that was involved.

those who say "the meet wasnt until 1pm so thats why organisers didnt get there until then". That is just bad management. They should be there at least and hour earlier (with this many clubs involved manpower shouldnt be an issue). This way there is time to have someone ready for cars who may well come early (it happens nothing runs perfect except the german and japanese train systems). This will also help in the parking better organised.

This I think is a good learning curve for those clubs and if it happens next year a learnt can be learnt. perhaps hiring some marque's/tents to provide shade, have the rotary club involved they love doing things like BBQ's/selling drinks at these events.

There will be gripes, it happens there were large numbers of people and it seemed chaotic. Take them on the chin and dont let it get you down (the organisers).

I was at the Brissie meet, 90% of the people left right on the dot of 11:30am, and when we arrived at the grounds there was only a handful of cars ahead of us, so wasn't really that ballsed up from the Brisbane end.

Weren't you guys expecting the 700 or so cars, a few pages back it said 658 confirmed?????

It didn't look like that many cars at the show ground but ok. If so thats a pretty reasonable effort!
