QUOTE(Nick_ @ Dec 7 2008, 09:44 PM) Why don't you PM some of the tog's on here in your location and they may join for a free lunch and a cruise or something. what organise a free lunch and cruise with a photoshoot?? QUOTE(Lance @ Dec 9 2008, 07:17 PM) Just watch you lighting and thinking about what ya going to do with the photos. Need the sun behind you to light up what your wanting to shoot. P.S If you want to shoot Duranbah, shoot from Sunrise, till 10am and then LATE afternoon otherwise you end up with really flat shots... I learnt that very quickly since 90% of my surfing shots are duranbah. cheers mate... i only went down there once because i was meetin family and wanted to try it.. but if i ever go down there again i'll try it out.. ![]() also learnt i needed to have a tripod down there.. lol.. gets pretty windy.. Love the shots of the bike, I love that bike aswell, constantly see it. I'm not a fan of those shots of the 33 sorry. With allthe different lighting levels in the first pic, it seems like a lot of detail has been lost on the car (in the first pic anyway). And the second pic really does nothing for me. It just seems like all the light is in the wrong place. What affect where you going for in that set? |

The first thing i have to mention is your composition, everything is so central try and stick with the rules of thirds (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rule_of_thirds). The first R33 shot is good i really like the location and the darkness, but at the same time you don't want the car to blend into the darkness so as Nick mentioned get some flash in there. But again the first shot is too central try cropping the top of the photo to place the car more towards the top giving you more foreground or vice versa. |

With the bike shots the water shot is really good, the composition is good and the reflection gives a cool effect. With the shots in front of the eye thing though you have really strong shadows and the bike isn't lit at all because of all the light being behind the bike, maybe try a flash to light up the bike. Anyway just some observations on my behalf take it or leave it. yeh cheers.. i'm looking at getting a nikon db60 speedlight i think it is.. couple of hundred bucks but should do the job nicely.. ![]() i try not to use flash as much as i can avoid it.. guess sometimes i do need it in some cases.. and that 33 has been chopped to hell.. lol hey nick.. nah the car isnt moving.. i just added the effects.. was just working on incorporating some of my graphic design skills with my photography.. seein what i get.. but cheers for the tips guys ![]() ohhh was never good with the rule of thirds in art hahaha... ![]() i know theyre small, but these are teaser shots from my time down in sydney doin photos for evo's and a few high end cars.. ![]() more shots yet to come.. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Those pictures are way to small to say anything about them, tho it seems you have some dust on your sensor in some of them. SB600 beginner flash? Ha. Any flash is both a beginners and a pro's tool. It's how you use it! ![]() |

The best shot personally out of that whole set is the evo with the city in background, yet, it has huge sensor dust on it which you should clone out. |

Yer i see where your coming from Nick, but it looks way to fake for me, especially on the left pole looks liike it has just been brushed over black to create some sort of vignetting. |

Very true, but the lighting is still mad, perhaps he should cut it out and paste it on a blank black background. |

Easy.
