Im just suprised at how many people aren't at work or at school!!!! what are 55 users doing at 11:50am on a wednesday morning doing on BC

why do people ask that question when realistically they should be asking themselves the same question as they are in fact on the internet as well?

Exactly my point.

People talk.

I'd be on here in a hurry trying to clear my name if it were me.

surely the owner of the car was informed by the shop of what needed fixed or replaced when they found problems, on 2 occasions when ive had my car in for service like my 100k, they told me what was going to be carried out and how much before they started, they rang me 30mins later and told me the timeing belt pully was leaking and needed replaceing and how much and i told them ok do it, 40mins later they rang me again to say my rear rotors needed to be machined and pads replaced and how much it would cost,, again i said do it. my new mechanic has also done the same when i went to get a unichip fitted, rang me to say he couldnt fit the unichip as the air flow meter was rooted and wouldnt go ahead until i approved him to fit it.

really business's have to cover all bases by calling u telling u the price making sure u understand what is going to be done so then when it comes back to this kind of thing that business should be able to pull out a phone bill highlight all the times he rang the customer to discuss what needed to be done, with a memo or notes on the cars service thing on the computer, so calls times listed with items discussed etc, anything to cover their arses

but sometimes they dont unfortunatly. have heard many stories of ppl going to get simple stuff done and coming back with a list of 20 other things. its been happening for years and im surprised it continues to happen. i just think people put far to much trust in shops hey.

a business is being flamed for doing work on cars that wasnt asked, making customers foot huge bill, then if they cant pay keeping cars for 6 months to then sell at auction to pay for work done on car.

and apparently there isnt anything the customer can do even though they never asked for the work to be done.... APPARENTLY

Solicitors are not THAT expensive. Certainly cheaper than forking out the extra few thousand dollars that the workshop is trying to charge him. It is by far the cheapest of your two options.

I was taking the piss out of the thread starter and agreeing with you. According to him they'd tried calling different solicitors, now I know they're not going to release the knowledge they have until someone starts paying them. That's the business of advice. But anyway.

QUOTE(asterisk @ Apr 2 2008, 11:42 AM)

because said owner does not sit on the internet all day like the rest of us... some people have lives and business to tend to. writing a reply to a gossip column that is an internet forum such as this or cb surely isn't high on his priorities.

QUOTE(TwinCam16 @ Apr 2 2008, 11:52 AM)

I hate to say it, but when the name of your bussiness is being dragged thru the mud, it would be very important to have it sorted....

x 11ty billion.

It's all well and good when it happens on the forum of 50 members, but I'd be very concerned when it happens on Australia's largest car forum, a majority of who are based in the city your business is in. Whether it's true or not doesn't matter, so I'd be striving to lock it down and take control early on.
