Hey pplz,

Just wondering if ne of u know how a EJ20/25 quad cam turbo engine will go in a rwd car. I no it wont have the handling of an awd, but im thinkin of puttin it in a different make of car. Have these engines been engineered specifically to go through 4 wheels???

Ne feedback is appreciated.

Take it easy.

I'd presume all the type of settings that make it a AWD would reside in the gearbox? Perhaps the computer for the engine might have something to do about it. Time for some research.

yeah, cause i saw on the rigoli website this rexy with massive tubs on the back end, dont think that would be awd.

you could get a RWD conversion for a rex which was expensive, changed your gears around a bit, and a new diff, or you could just change your gears around... and blow your diff first time you try to put 300hp to the ground smile.gif LOL

bit off topic but yeah, it's just the gear box which controls it... as far as i know...

cheers,

Or you could go oldschool and just take out the front drive shafts...

if u disconnected the front driveshafts ud have to lock the center diff somehow

what sort of car are u thinking of putting it in?, thew chassis rails have to be quite wide apart in the engine bay to fit the motor in. and no the computer dosnt give a rats about what geabox u have, the awd is purely a gearbox thing (the autos have some smarts in them but its a seperate computer anyhow)

and also the rigoli rex with tubs is RWD , its still not finsihed i belive.

and and and and, one last thing, the EJ25 was never turbocharged and not recommend u do so either. without a lot of block work

PS Hoon:bit of trivia, a brumby is a ute, the car in that web page is an L series wagon.
