ROFL LMAO, love the title of the Video. Sweet. You have some wicked camber on that Datto.

Rookie Rox, It did work out. I let someone else have my pit and shared with another mate.

Atleast you also get to mix around a bit and meet other people.

Points are allocated to the fastest of each group. If there's more competitors in the same group running faster times, they'll get the points. Effectively the times of other competitors in other groups are completely ignored.

So points are allocated to the fastest 13 times running from 20, 17, 15, 12, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, everyone else then picks up 1 point. Although because there was less than 13 competitors in Road 8 at these Sprints, the points went down to 4.

so logicaly if i said my car was a v8 rather than a pissy 1.3ltr
and did the same times i would have a better chance of getting a good finish in that category.. that sucks balls

Why does it matter? You're only competing against the people in your category. There's obviously not as much competition in that class.

cause I want to win of course ??
just dont think its gona happen when im racing against porches sad.gif

Usual way, youll never get a system where everyone will be happy. Look at the V8 supercar series. They try real hard to keep it fair and theres always something.

I could complain because Im sure every car that was in my class that was quicker was trailered out. Houw could this be just for road registered vehicles. My car got driven their and back and will be driven to work tommorow.

Usual thing though, fact of life is there will always be someone quicker. Just keep working on your PB.Youll get plenty of satisfaction from that........ and have fun!

mosport
Post #228

i have sent my entry in for 16 th smile.gif
should be fun !

as far as SAS groups go we have the clubmans in our class which makes it hard to win as well.
but then they are 4 cylinder road registered cars.

jezza323
Post #229

i think Road 4 is one of the hardest categories to get to the top in

Just so you know people trailer their cars there incase something goes wrong. Some people know they have problems when pushing their cars and it is not nice having to pay $150-$200 to get your car towed when you can just trailer it there to be safe. My car is driven daily and if i had my way any time it went on the track i would trailer it out there.

MysteryRide

MEV09 Fair comment.

Usual way, like I said cant keep everyone happy. wink.gif

But most trailered cars are a dedicated track cars or something heavily moded rather than stock.

QR's not too bad but Morgan Park is a drama!

"to say that the 4 cylinder group is hard to top"... with the clubmans in the group..

i dont think thats true.. cars like wrx-eater DC5, louis's oeg60, Jamie's eg, DR john's S2000 should be very competive this year..

i would like to see louis's OEG60 top this years 4 cylinder. jamie should be close if he is willing to spent more money... haha..

but of course those clbman cost like 30~80 grand to built.. compared to our road cars that cost a fraction of that.. i think guys don't give up yet..

my CRX in it's first run only managed a 64 sec.... but with proper tuning and setup sub 60 is possible...

of course chosing a suitable car is very important too.. i mean hondas are built for te track period... however i believe a good purpose built toyota Ae86, or toyota sportivo, toyota MR2, mazda 3, celica can also do the job. it's all about set up, and the right investment in a car..

mosport
Post #233

yeah top ten from last year 4 cylinders shows Honda featuring prominently with 5 spots
followed by those pesky clubmans with 3 spots,
which leaves a very old alfa and a very old datto rounding off in 6th & 9th

1st - Honda CRX
2nd - Birkin S3
3rd - Westfield Sei
4th - Honda S2000
5th - Birkin S3
6th - Datsun 1600
7th - Honda S2000
8th - Honda S2000
9th - Alfa Romeo GT Junior
10 - Honda S2000

I dont much like their drop 2 worst round rule either as it doesnt promote attendance or consistancy.

Now if they brought in dial your own times that would give everyone a chance of winning wink.gif

2007 results still available here http://www.queenslandraceway.com.au/sas-points.xls

I know of a good Sportivo for sale that has all the good bits already on it, it just needs a buyer to take it to the track (no it's not mine).

this is finally the year i can do this, I used to make the trip just to come and watch, i will be out in an rx7...when i find one sad.gif and when i get my P's in April, does anyone know if that black supra still competes, i remember when i saw it it anialated (spelling?) everything, the speed it got on the front straight was incredible...close to a V8 super car maybe...

QUOTE(Rookie ROX @ Dec 28 2007, 07:00 PM)

Haven't seen that Supra out for a while actually. Not at the Sprints or Top Gear practice anyway.

I have a Street/Track GTR that I plan on trailoring to QR all the time. My last GTR used to drive to Willowbank, but its a riyal pain in the ass being stuck out there when you kill something (its a Nissan afterall) tongue.gif

I like the street rego rule. although street class should have to have DOT approved tires or whatever. I saw some FULL slicks out there in street class!!!

thumbsup.gif

all good.

Hopefully see some of you guys on Tuesday 5th at Timeattack! Im there in the GTR's first run out.
